Perma-mezzed/invincible/can't log back in to lotro!!?? HELP!!
Today my creep was perma-mezzed in the moors. I was invincible and could not use any of my skills. I could still move around. I logged out and now all my game client says is "cleaning up old connection" infinitely! I cannot log back into LOTRO at all. I'm not sure what to do. Please help and post a fix!!

Sounds like you encountered the WL bug.
Unfortunatly the only solution I know off is just wait for it to "clean up" the old connection and log back in. It happened to me once, it took 15 minutes.

Cleaning up old connection will eventually complete, you just need to wait.

Many thanks to all of you that submitted helpful quotes. 15 minutes is a long time to clean up a connection but it worked!

Encountered this exact bug myself 2 nights ago, when we were running in a Tribe group. First it was our other Warleader, and 5 minutes after they logged out to try to fix it, I got the same problem. In my case it fixed with a complete boot, but for her it took quite a long time to fix. More than 15 minutes anyway.
I was also told, that the bug in question has been around for 3 years, and will "infect" all the Warleaders one by one in the raid. That's exactly what happened to us too.
Now the way to fix it is to have the "slow logout" (waiting through it, and not exiting by "forcing"), but in my case 5 tries and I couldn't log out. Same problem was probably on the other Warleader too. We were too busy fighting after we got back to discuss about in depth. Also as a healer, leaving my group without heals for even a minute is too long.
I do think if there was a bug that made some other class completely unplayable for 15 minutes on the freep side, it would get fixed with a hotfix. Even if it didn't then start affecting every single player of that class on the same raid.
Suddenly loosing the reactive healing from a group leads to big problems and I'm very surprised it hasn't been fixed.Bravery calls my name, in the sound of the wind in the night. My sword will drink blood, and I will fight, yes I will fight, in the Dawn of Battle!

Yup, wl bug. It's pretty much caused by freeps who think they are "elite" and "cool" running around in RP in the moors lol. It would be nice to be allowed to use skills and been invincible tho. O, how I'd love to take on a full freep zerg with that lol

Welcome to LOTRO PvP
This is the Warleader bug, It has been around for years, like many of the PvP bugs, and has not been fixed adequately.
It seemed to go away for a while after Mirkwood but came back again after RoI, as they messed with loads of things in PvP.
It seems a lot more likely to occur during times of high server loads - ie any time you have more than 50 - 60 players fighting in one area - Turbines servers are that poor.
Or their Coding... or whatever - but their is awful server side lag in the moors, and in my experience this bug, and others IE bugged effects like web, DoTs, etc which do not cease and cannot be dispelled, or stuck in combat bug, occur when you are getting a lot of lag and high volume of players.
Shut down LOTRO and relog, that usually fixes it... usually!"Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory." The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Can happen to captains as well. http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...fects-captains
Anyway, I wouldn't put too much faith in Turbine being able to fix any bug, considering Draigoch on PvE-side.

We should really stop calling it a bug as that implies that there is a chance of it being fixed.

I doubt its really fixed. Would mean devs would have to look at pvp.
Iirc someone figured out what caused it. I don't remember the specifics, but its something with overlapping group buffs + server lag, so if multiple WLs had the damage aura on in the same group, the chances for them to get the bug went way up.
Don't quote me on this, i have no idea if this theory was disproved or if even this is exactly it, just what i recall.

For the Damage Aura I can tell that only I was using it, still lacking the "higher" one due to Commendation costs.
What did happen right when I got bugged was a Champion using his horn, which actually didn't stun me, just put me into the stun animation. I could move perfectly fine, but all the skills became un-usable. Also there were only about 30-40 players total present in the near area (Tol Arcarnen). My Tribemate got the bug before, so it might have appeared when we had a small fight earlier, or in between fights. No big raids going on at that time though. Thank you for remembering the discussion though.
It needs to be fixed, and if Captains are having the same problem, they need to be fixed too. Just not before Warleaders (freeps have more than enough other healing classes to fill in if one bugs out)... :-)Bravery calls my name, in the sound of the wind in the night.
