Thinking about running my Guard through some Moria instances to earn Medallions of Moria so that my Champ and Hunter currently muddling their way through the 30s will have the ability to purchase the Moria armour when the time comes. Is this possible? Do the number of medallions dropped remain constant even if you're running the instance above level? I know the easy answer is just to PUG it, but my play time is very erratic and I can't stand having to drop out and leave a group in a bind.
PUGing challenge mode takes 15 minutes (the more 75s, the better).
Don't know about solo ability. I'd assume yes.
That fast, huh? Maybe I'll give it a shot. In addition to my time constraints, I've always shied away from grouping due to my relative NEWBNESS in regards to MMOs. Might be time to take the plunge.
If you're new to instances, I would highly recommend grabbing a few 75 friends and heading into some of the non-scaling instances (such as the ones in Angmar and Moria). This instances will be relatively easy given the degree to which you're overleveled, and will give you a chance to see where you need to practice to get better at instanced content.
GS is run pretty often (at least on evernight) because of the moria tokens people need for alts. If you just want the tokens its a fast run. Ignore as much as possible and go straight for Igash. Really do try NOT to kill the devoted as the differense in tokens is pretty big (2 instead of 6 or something like that)
About soloing: Just try it! Whats the worst that can happen? A little dread for 10 minutes and some coins for repair. Wish normal life was that forgiving
I think you'll be fine soloing GS but if not: A failure is just a nice reason to come back later and take revenge!
Dont hesitate to solo anything by the way. There are a lot of virtues to be had and its often funnier to try something a bit more challenging then running around in the landscap killing stuff for deeds. Uruks in angmar-deed? Run Carn dum or Uru for example. The extra class items you get give some nice coins at the AH to add to the fun and pay for the repair.

Back at the 60 cap we had a group of Hunters/RKs do it in less than 15 mins (before the big nerf bat)
If you have a 75 Champ + Warden friend, you can probably do it in less than 10.
Solo? I'm sure it is easily possible, but of course that will depend on your gear and skill
