Thread: Elendilmir Faires and Social Gatherings Events, interested?

Hey all,
I play as the minstrel Lynle and the Warden Kendwyn on Elendilmir. I have an idea for you all. Would any of you be interested in participating in a server wide social event like a faire of some sort? The activities and events I want to include would be:

- Music and Dancing w/ a minstrel concert type thing
- Food and Drink
- Horse Races and Drunken Horse Races
- Hobbit Hunting (where a team of players on mounts look for a lone hobbit player who is hiding somewhere on the map)
- Buying and Selling of Crafted goods (NOT RP, unless you want to RP)
- Meeting other players
- Kinship Promotion/Recruitment
- Sparring
- and last of all, a venue where veteran players can help out new players

if interested please send Lynle a tell or an in-game mail. If this proves popular I may want to do this once or twice a month!

If you are interested in being a vendor (ie, selling your crafted goods) or playing in a concert or with other minstrels during the event, or hosting one of the other events, either reply to this post or message me in-game!

also, if you want to be a part of the Social Gathering and Events Planning Committee, send me a message in-game as well!

It's about time someone tries something like this in Elendilmir.

I would love participating in the activities you mention.

I'm a crafter myself, but bringing an inventory full of crafted items is not very practical.
I would much rather offer my services during the festival to whoever is interested.

As for playing in a concert or two with other people, as long as I'm not organizing anything and people tell me what to do, I can join a group in need of a member.

Do you have an area in mind for this fair?

If it's near a hunter port or a fire (and not too high up levels) it doesn't need to be in a starter zone.

I'm sure hunters won't mind guiding people to the event (at least I wouldn't).

you could always take orders from people and deliver the goods at a later date.

as for locations:

- The Party Tree
- Methel Stage (Minstrel Concerts and fireworks location)
- Buckland (has a good area for vendors)
- outside the Green Dragon is a good place to mingle and for a few minstrels to play music
- Michel Delving is an excellent place as it has crafting facilities and vault access
- Bree?

I want to do this, but will need help. I want to aim for a mid to late July date, but you guys need to chip in as well. If you can't help try to find people who can. Thanks, and if this sounds patronising, harsh, or demanding I apologise.

You should email Turbine with your idea of some sort of summer event and try to make it official

that Turbine promotion thing will only help promote and give you rewards to hand out. They won't help you get vendors or anything else like that. All that is up to me to organize. So, please if you want to take part in this faire, please reply to this thread or send me a tell in game (to Lynle).

I would like to take part. Personally, player events are one of my favorite aspects of the game but I hardly see them on Elendilmir. The one time I did attend one (couple weeks ago), it was drama galore and I had to leave for fear of breaking my brainstem.

I play the hobbit Minstrel, Davidia on Elendilmir. I could take part in the concert, and also I would totally love to be one of the hobbits that would be hiding for the Hobbit Hunting. xD

Doesn't Elendilmir population visit the forums or are they just not that interested in this?

As for what I want to do:
- Music and Dancing w/ a minstrel concert type thing - Can do either (play if need be, or dance)
- Food and Drink - Can eat, can drink, cannot make high level food because I have no experienced cook. :P
- Horse Races and Drunken Horse Races - Would love to participate
- Hobbit Hunting (where a team of players on mounts look for a lone hobbit player who is hiding somewhere on the map) - My burglar (Sunflow) can be one of the hidden hobbits.
- Buying and Selling of Crafted goods (NOT RP, unless you want to RP) - Westfold Woodcutter, Jeweler and Tailor can and will be taking orders and delivering when ready (provided I have the materials). Other crafts are available but not top leveled.
- Meeting other players - As much as possible
- Kinship Promotion/Recruitment - I can propose this to my kin leader if the event is a go.
- Sparring - With pleasure (always glad to get my "but" kicked)
- and last of all, a venue where veteran players can help out new players - This would be excellent and you have a voluntary helper in me for this. The ideal here would be to have a player of each class (or a player with several classes) giving out advice. Besides this, a more general guidance on group content (maybe running some lower level group content to practice FMs or group synergy) would probably be even more important so people aren't afraid of grouping sooner. My alts would appreciate it.

I think this is amazing(as previously mentioned) but to be more informative I can craft, promote, participate and I have some stealth detection and tracking skills and would love to hunt hobbits! XD When I get home in a few days I will help with any preparation or promotion tasks you give me! As you can see on my profile I consider the social aspects of the game a big FIVE!

sorry for the long absence as I have been leveling Kendwyn from level 35 to level 44 the past week and a half. I am glad to see all the interest! So, please continue spreading the word around. I am hoping to get this all organized for a mid to late August date, a sort of End of Summer/pre RoR festival/faire. Or, we could do it on September 22nd, ie, Bilbo and Frodo's Birthday?

Considering today is the limit for player event submission and nothing was updated in this thread, I assume you are not submitting this round either.
It's a shame, really...
