Thread: Freep Spar Tournament?

We should create a spar tournament here, all 75 freeps r wellcome and a good place for that is 21st hall or pits arena, so who is up?

of course, a good reward for the winners

i would like to say im in but if i did alot going to sign out :P
so i will keep u updata
and if u need any help with making this happen holla in game

I'm thinkin in 16 players, so we can pronouce this tournament in glff and mount a raid with them. The matches will be chosen using the roll system in raid chat (higher roll vs. Smaller roll).

1g fee, 10 gfor the 1st, 5g for the 2nd and 1g for the 3trd.

of course, no foods, potions, scrolls and bla bla bla (just class itens are ok - hunter's focus potion and whatever)

but...I'm worried about draws, one good ideia it's use one kind of judge to calculate the % of morale at the end of the fight =P

any ideia r wellcome

This seems like generally a good idea... but sparring isn't exactly well balanced. I bet 10g a burg or warden takes 1st prize.

not necessarily, depends of the roll system. For example a good hunter can beat one mini or rk, but will probably loose for one burg

I suck at spars, but i do find them fun.

stout is a pve burg

Beardzilla has been on a lot, and we all know how he feels about spars. I'm sure he'd show up.

Yay! What do you guys think about Saturday or Sunday?

A great format would be best 2 out of 3, or best 3 out of 5 for each pair of contestants. All in a row.

The results of this would be more accurate in terms of player skill, not just who can use Never Surrender or HIPS first.


Regardless, a pre-organized touranment of any sort would be more devastating to the egos of those who boast the loudest. One doesn't have to ponder long to imagine the difference of outcome they'd be forced to endure.



As a final note, I'm personally excited to see Beardzilla smash all competition.

Play around medo? lol.. the day you beat me again is the day that I.. say I was wrong and I never do that :P rk's can melt gaurds now..

ya gaurd are not in the same place anymore but i can still kick ur @$$ fire :P

although no burg is like bailey ( shame he is not around )

good idea (best of 3 ^^), but we have to decide something about draws. Even in 10 fights I'll tie against a guard with a good gear (imagine Guard Vs Guard ¬¬)

this weekend its ok for me, but I heard voices in my head that beard will comeback in 2 or 3 weeks (rly wanna see he again, our last fight was fun =P)

so if we have enough ppl coming (16 players), and decide what to do about tie I would shoot this saturday 8 p.m G.M.T

maybe we can try a Freep Spar Tournament II and count with beard

8 Saturday is a little early for us but we'd be on later. Should be fun!

I will be coming on Oldin, just so I can be in Beardzilla's presence again. I think we can all rest assured that this will bring him out of his self-imposed vow of silence.

algol warden v warden is worst
guard v guard well let me put it this way never lost to a gaurd since roi 2 good OP geared guard it become a skill spar no way it will end in a tie
warden v gaurd is a tie if both used full cds and wait for them to come back
like 1st spar tie
2nd spar 1 will win
3ed most likely another tie coz cd's will be back

well, about draws my opinion is make all fights best of 3, and in case of 3 drawns, we gonna make a 4 fight and that one will be decided based on % of morale from each player at the end of the fight, sounds good?

You would decide to do this as soon as I have to leave again. I'm going on a 3 week FTX for SOPC starting tomorrow so I'll be off lotro for nearly a month. This better happen when I get back one day!
