    Post Monster Play on Elendilmir?

I want to transfer my Defiler to your server. I want information on the activity in Monster play.

    1. Are there daily raids.

    3. Are there large amounts of daily active Monster play members?

    4. Do 90% of you accept random invites and enjoy being in a group?

    5. Are the groups strategic/focused on capturing the maps key locations.

    6. Will new Monsters be ridiculed/left out do to their gear/experience?

I am mainly concerned about question four, I am a dedicated healer and induction slower. I really want to max this Defiler and have next to no offensive skills. Will it be hard for me to find a raid or start one?

We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing!

We worship a cow. We also have two lesser divinities known as Dren the Bubble Queen, and Griz.

Concerning the question you hold dearest, groups are not uncommon and are welcome. However, sending random invites to people is not appreciated and is considered quite rude. However, I do not believe you will have much trouble finding a group or creating one. Whether you are in the same tribe or not is only occasionally a problem, and people will soon know you from your contributions throughout the Ettenmoors on Big E.

    As for the rest:

    1) Only when it makes sense to have a raid. If you form a raid when the freeps are already badly disorganized, that is a great way to get the freeps to log and destroy PvP for a few hours.
    2) You skipped this.
    3) Yes.
    4) See paragraph above.
    5) The creeps have OCD every time they see a blue keep and surge it as if the freeps stepped on a bee hive. We appreciate more small group action or large raid v. raid (24v24), keeps are secondary at best.
    6) For gear I presume you mean 'maps' and 'skills/corruptions'. For 'maps', some groups expect you to have at least your crude, if not your good maps for their raids. Otherwise it is very difficult to compete against horse mounted freeps. But this is not exclusive, many groups will take whoever happens to be there. For 'skills/corruptions' it is seldom a problem. Make an effort and most people won't care. As far as ridicule goes, it depends on the creep. Some will. Some won't.

If you want a good feel for Elendilmir, just create a creep on the server and run around for a few weekends. Make a reaver and see if you like the community. Please remember that some nights are slow, while some are busy as can be.

Don't be afraid to ask questions in ooc when you come

    1. Yes
    3. Yes
    4. Yes. But vet players won't accept random invites and if there's not enough freeps there shouldn't be a creep raid outside of map quests.
    5. Yes.
    6. My creeps have zero gear and I'm a huge raid baby.

Too many creeps right now so you're only welcome because defilers are underplayed. Please bring some Reavers with you.

    Re: Monster Play on Elendilmir?

Greetings. This may have been a better thread posted on the E pvp forums...but hopefully you will get good feedback. As others have said, make a creep. hang out for a couple weekends and see if it is something you like. As for the questions...here you go

I don't know how long you have been playing in the PVP world so I will base my answers on if you have't played before. if something comes back as obvious I apologize.

    1. Are there daily raids.
depends on the action. Raids used to be daily..but right now freeps are still working out some leadership snags so the action can very from day to day. Lots of small group throughout the evenings. Weekends are strong for raids and can last hours on end.

    3. Are there large amounts of daily active Monster play members?
are you speaking of Creeps or overall monster players? Overall Elendilmir has the 2nd highest player count over the last year as well as the last couple months (I didn't feel like researching further back then that. So yes. However it is currently pretty creep dominant most of the time. There are times when freeps do outnumber the creeps, but not as often.

    4. Do 90% of you accept random invites and enjoy being in a group?
Random? No. It is actually probably flipped where 90% DO NOT accept random invites. The majority of creeps that see a blind invite come from someone they don't know, that person will go on ignore at lightning speed. It is rude, distracting, and annoying. OOC is the best place to go to ask about a group. Or in Teamspeak. One thing Elendilmir is known for is the Monster Manual's 10 commandments. Commandment 5: Thou shalt not blind invite creeps

    5. Are the groups strategic/focused on capturing the maps key locations.
This all depends on what key points are available and play an advantage. As well as the group. Some groups are just friends playing together and don't worry about a strategy. They just find fights and have fun. Others group up for skill, strategies, tactics, and fun. Most Creep raids are designed in the sense. HOWEVER. This also means that knowledge of gameplay, class, and key travel (maps) are essential in the raids. Does this mean you won't get an invite. Not at all. But if you are running around mindlessly and not being an asset to the group...your raiding may be short lived to some people so make sure you do your reading on your class and learn the tactics of the raid sooner than later

as far as capturing key map locations...this isn't always essential and may actually become a negative action during raids. A lot of creep and freep leaders will use a map location as what other's call a warning call. Stirring up a "Hornets nest" if you will to get the opposing sides attention that there is action coming but not capture the keep. Moving the fight away from it to other locations being that strait up fighting can be a lot of fun and running around ninjaing keeps or pushing constantly can get old fast. So it always depends on the situation. Sometimes not taking a keep or key location can be a tactical move for all parties.

    6. Will new Monsters be ridiculed/left out do to their gear/experience?
This depends entirely on you. Take a couple things into consideration here. During prime time when there are a lot of players out...They are focused on fighting the opposing force. not PVEing for comms. So during prime times if you ask for help and you dont get a lot of responses...realize why, and don't ridicule people for it. That will black list you quite quick. Elendilmir is VERY community oriented. So get to know people. Talk to the vets in OOC (unless they are fighting or leading), be friendly and not come off as a jerk and you will most likely end up as a great addition to the community. Eventually you will get your gear, traits, and ranks...Starting out can be kind of rough at times.

If you are a lower rank keep this in mind: Leaders will open their groups up to you...but not having a lot of experience you are going to die a LOT. They know this. But they have a fight and a lot of other people to watch...if you die. wait for instructions. Dont rez yourself and run around aimlessly wondering what is going on and why the leader is letting you sit there. They know what they are doing. Let them work and you will gain the experience you need.

Hope this helped. Good Luck and maybe see you out in the moors.

    Nope.

Yicky, think 90% of creeps. Not 90% of creeps in TS. Not 90% of creeps you hang with. 90% of random morons out in the moors at any given time that you barely know exist because they get to rank 3ish and we never see them again.

Don't be silly. There's literally hundreds of reasons to ridicule and ostracize people besides their gear and experience. Besides, you have a stick and a hideous mask. You're as well geared as any other defiler.
