Thread: Improved Anvils?

Hiya, just a quick request to improve the anvils please.

Would it be possible to reduce the cooldown, make them unbound (or even bound to account) and reduce the mats required for them?

This is something I've always wanted. Metalsmith's should be able to make these and sell them on the AH.

I can't see anything game breaking about repairing your stuff in-situ.

Personally, I don't see this happening anytime soon. If more people knew that you could craft and carry around repair anvils, they would be less inclined to purchase the 1-hour repair service from the lotro store.

I myself was delighted when they dramatically lowered the repair cost associated with the anvils. Now superior Anvil costs the same as the NPC vendor repair. But I don't see any other improvements in the future. Metalsmiths make them, and are the only ones with the metalsmith skill to use them. Makes sense in a way. Besides, Grds can summon a armorer for repairs as well, so there are other options.

A related but unimportant point: Weaponsmiths also make repair anvils.

And my LM/Historian has been carrying five or six around with her forever. Fortunately, they stack. In five years of playing I've used one once.

I just dont see why we cant make them to pass to kinnies, friends, alts or to sell tbh, would be nice. The superior costing the same to repair as vendors was a nice addition but a day CD is just daft, I know you can use 2 anvils a day if you use the non-crit too but no1 will use the non-crit when you put it out! xD

At least give us a % of the repair fees! (OJ) xD

I have a few stacks of anvils on one of my alts but have never actually needed to use one. Having said that would be nice if all craft items were transferable, ok I might not be able to sell many of them but still there are bound to be people out there who can't make them but would like to use them. If enough people support this maybe it will happen in future.

In one of the raids I was participating in we wiped a couple of times. I suddenly remembered I had a stack of these so I plunked one down for everyone to use, very useful

But I agree to making them not-bound, it would make things a lot easier!

I assume it's because Turbine was originally thinking that the owner of the anvil would be fighting in a fellowship, and could put the anvil down for all his fellows to use. I may be wrong; it's early in the morning and my assumption-fu is not at its best.

I've just stopped making repair anvils. Even with the Superior having reduced costs, it still doesn't compare to the discount people can get by repairing in some place that they have Kindred status with. The last few times I plopped down a repair anvil, half the people clicked on it, said, "no way", and ported out to repair in Galtrev or 21st Hall.

Perhaps Guilded T8 recipes. 1/wk cd, bind-to-account?

An alternative would be crafted repair tools which everyone can have in his pockets to repair his own equipment.

Sometimes the same person keeps getting killed in a raid over and over again. So a anvil for everyone would be wasted if after the use it is on cooldown.
