Enable Skill Miss Chance Penalties While Moving

So under "Options / Combat Options" there is an entry called "Enable skill miss chance penalties while moving". I notice that this used to be enabled by default when it was introduced but now is off by default on a fresh install.

Does anyone use it? Which skills does it affect (is it only ranged auto-attack?).

Does anyone recommend turning it on / leaving it off?

Is it useful in PvP / Raids / Landscape?

I don't use it. Leaving it off will root you when the skills are activated (I believe any that have a to-hit chance are affected) but since mine resolve quickly I never noticed that hampering my ability to move. Turning it on made a very noticeable difference in the rate of misses (pressing attack would whiff frequently on mobs that I rarely missed otherwise) and IMO that was a bigger threat to my combat effectiveness. It might be wiser if you use a lot of induction skills, someone else will have to comment on that.

That definitely *shouldn't* be true, but I haven't tested it, so I can't say for sure if it is, or you're just noticing more because you're looking for it.

It's just for ranged auto-attacks. Way back when, you'd use it to pull, and as you ran toward the mob, it would root you in place during auto attacks. It was pretty annoying, and I haven't toggled that box on ever.

You are correct. I went back to test and apparently it had been enabled all along. It was quite a while ago so either I was misremembering and/or had misinterpreted my experience. I didn't notice any difference in hit rate this time and neither setting interfered with my ability to move around. Upon reviewing the dev diaries they also mention it being applied only to ranged auto-attacks. I apologize for providing bad information.
