There appears to be a TON of new low level players all of a sudden. Is this because of steam or because Nimrodel is the the suggested server on signup or because of the new special steed for getting new people to sign up? Maybe all three?
Just wondering. It's quite busy on the server and I am hoping this is a long term good thing.
Awesome, fresh blood logging in, school letting out for most people (Not I though), and LOTRO hitting steam with recommendations to join Nimrodel... It's a sign that we are the best!!!
Now to catch the greenies, noobs, and otherwise possible other mmo-players and cultivate them into awesome players and raiders and whatever else they wanna do (even PvMP -.-) so that when more noob-greenies come, they can see how awesome we help our noobs and how awesome the vets are too, and how awesome the server is as a whole ...
But please don't let the greenie-noobs get anywhere near the horrors of our server (no names *cough* starts with an Ut and a kin of W.G.T.) ROFL unless they seek out that said kin leader and ask to be a robo-minion, then they can earn scorn from the rest of the server too. Yay!!!
Either way, we still win...
An influx of noobs means more PvMP'ers, more raiders, and just in general a higher population to play with and invite into kins and have a good time playing and what not, not to mention a reason to dust off an old low level alt and teach some people all about having a good time playing on Nimrodel.
"My girl, my girl, Don't lie to me, tell me Where did you sleep last night?"
More freavers=more meat shield. Every freaver that gets blown up is 8-10k damage that I didn't take. Every freaver that gets stunned is a stun I didn't have to pot. Every freaver that charges EC is a dozen npc's that aren't on me. That last one is the best part, i can get into EC with all the npc's on some freaver and long burrow. Then when the next half-dead freep run into EC to escape, it's all mine.
yeah, cause nimrodel is probably getting close enough to the user-per-server cap that it now needs to prioritize log-ins, meaning lifers and VIP get in first, then premiums, then f2p.
If yer lucky enough to be a lifer/VIP, or premium then there shouldn't be much problem logging in, but the f2p will have issues with the server being full and not being able to log in. Of course when we get so full that premiums get that message, then turbine should look into telling steam to recommend another server, or expanding the capacity for players on ours or something. Although I seriously doubt we'll get enough people to get to that point, much less the point where VIPs have trouble logging in.

I am a VIP and it won't let me in either. Something is not right.
The only other theorum I can give is that sometimes the launchers for our server is just really, really busy when you tried to log on. I've never come across this problem before, so I dunno what else to say, and since I'm not a turbine employee, I can do nothing about it either. ;p Good Luck!

I saw a few people post it today in GLFF that it took a few tries for them to log in, after thinking about it some, I'd say maybe it's the actual launcher that's getting clogged at certain times, therefore you can't log in because while the server can handle many many players, the launcher might have a lower maximum threshold of users?
I'm not an IT man so who knows for sure ;p but that's my current guess, although my bro and I are still debating (arguing) about why the lag is game-wide and bad for soem and not for others. (It passes the time and it's a thing we do) LOL

Yeah, it appears I was mistaken, but then again I have not experienced the problem and can only go by what my friends, the forum posters, and peeps in GLFF tell me. It was just a theory anyways. As long as I can log in, I'm happy though.

LOL... I have to say I'm not feeling too much of the server lag, hell did three wings of Orthanc yesterday and with cloak off, and graphics on ugliest, I only had very rare spikes of lag through all the wings... But I dunno, nor am I the authority on the subject.
