Captains, banners, and the L75 gap

First off...I have been playing LOTRO, almost entirely solo, for about a year. This is my first and so far only MMORPG. I greatly enjoy this game--my experience with it has been nothing but overwhelmingly positive. I appreciate the helpful community that I've consistently encountered both on this forum and in the field. With that said, I have two questions which I hope are not rehashes of earlier discussions--I have looked around on this and other forums and have found some responses to #2, but not #1.

--Banners. I made the Archer-to-banner switch late in life. I have been able to get a hold of the Intricate Westfold banners, but am finding that in any situation--Moors, Instances, regular PVE--I am only getting the stat bonuses (might & agility, e.g.) and not the larger phys mastery, morale, etc that come with the banner. Is there something I am doing wrong? I confirmed on my quest log that I completed "A Captain's Standard"...is there maybe some skill or trait that I have not used or slotted? I never rule out PEBKAC, especially when I am the one in question...

--Like many soloers I am at the "gap" in L75, where I've finished the Vol III Epic up to this point but do not yet have the combat power to handle Limlight alone. I am revisiting Instances, Skirms, cleaning up Vol II, and now the Moors...my captain is LtC focused so I am working (slowly) towards the Moors LtC-based Commendation armor set. Is there anything I am overlooking? I have tried raiding but even Fellowshipping the Moors has been a problem due to bandwidth and time zones (I really am in Africa irl, in the southern hemisphere no less). I've seen a few posts on this already--has anyone found anything besides raids that worked in building up combat power?

Any advice on either question above would be greatly appreciated.

u dont need answer for #2
    the first question,
the phy mastery and max morale comes with the banner when u equip, not when u place
so whenever you equipped it the phy mastery is already there just not in buff bar, just like other armour pieces
however those bonuses are for yourself only and banner r for felowship

You are getting the phys mast & morale bonuses. Compare not having a banner equipped with having it equipped. Or compare having a Hope banner equipped with a Victory banner.
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won

Thank you both very much--I pretty much figured it was something I just hadn't noticed/figured out yet. And now to get back to pushing Might up to 1.5k....
