Thread: Zones To Buy?

I was trying to figure out which zones I should buy. I want to level to the cap, but I don't want to grind monsters.
I've read, and it seems as though you can get to level 20 or so on quests with the free content. I was wondering where I should go from there. What pack should I buy. If someone can link me, or write a guide for levels 1-65 or so with the quest packs I should opt to purchase. I am a human in game, by the way.

Step 1: You can get to Level 30 for free, as the Lone Lands QP is also free.

Step 2: First QP purchase is Evendim. It is truly the most efficient of all zones for leveling.

Step 3: This one depends on you and your play style. If you're primarily a solo player, Forochel is your preferred QP. If you've found a steady leveling group, Angmar would be better. Or, if you find yourself with a high surplus of points and want to pick up two zones, you can buy Misty Mountains and Eregion for the same level range. (Personal aside: I rate Eregion as one of my favorite zones I've played. YMMV.)

Step 4: Moria. There is no way around it, and there's no way to replace it. Suck it up, and at least pretend to enjoy it.

Step 5: Again, you have a choice. If you max out in Moria, you can continue straight to Enedwaith since the revamp. Or you can go through Lothlorien and Mirkwood.

Step 6: Rise of Isengard. There is no way around it. And this will get you at the (for now) level cap of 75.

Step 7: Odds are fairly good that by the time you get to cap, it will have gone up yet again with the release of Riders of Rohan. Again, there will be no way around it than to get the next expansion.

was you planning on spending money for TP or was you just going to go from what TP you can earn in game .. doubt that changes any order just the way one may obtain certain quest packs.
Like if you were to purchase RoI Legendary, that also includes for you Trollshaws, Eregoin, Moria, Lothlorien, and Mirkwood quest packs, and enough TP to purchase 2 more quest packs, like Evendim, and ? (Misty Mountain, Angmar, Forochel).
then there is just 1 more quest left to purchase (currently) that being Great River .. and later the soon to be added Riders Of Rohan, which would be needed to reach the new cap when it's added

I'd recommend checking out the chart linked in my signature as it shows most of the available expansions and bundles that include different quest packs which can be cheaper than buying them individually.

If you're trying to be frugal with your TP, this way is extremely good.

Evendim is a must, as it is one of the better zones and fits nicely onto the end of the Lone lands. Moria is another must, but it is still an excellent pack for the multitude of instances it brings. However, the tricky part is bridging the level or two between the end of Evendim and the very start of Moria which is at level 45.

Assuming you did the majority of the quests, you should finish Evendim around 43 or 44. There are several important quests and such around this point, like the ledgendary books, the ledgendary trophy quest, and the epic quest. I found this put me right at 45, so I did the Moria beginning, then finished the Volume I epic (which is really cool by the way) and got close to 49. Moria took me to 62 so far, and I still have a bit left over. Enedwaith will definetly get you to 65 or higher.

If you can find it, get a boxed Moria set (the Codemasters version doesn't work, so be careful!). ~$20 for 1 VIP month and Moria is a good deal.

Notice that the Lone Lands next to BREE are free too, which should bring you to about lvl 30ish.

Indeed Evendim should be your next purchase, which you should be able to afford simply by grinding the deeds on your main character and maybe run an alt through all the starter areas.

Also doing the (VERY grindy)10TP run on ALL the servers will bring you almost there anyway.
Remember the 10TP you got in the starter area right after the little tutorial?

You can get 10 points once per server by making a new toon on that server. If you make a dwarf, for example, choose skip tutorial or whatever it is(doesn´t work on Free Accounts), you pop up in ferrin's court. Walk 5 steps to dwalin (I think) to get the "every little bit helps" quest. Get 10 points. Log out, repeat for each server.

The above site has more extensive tips on these things.

If you find your gaming experience here positive I´d really recommend buying the Mithril Edition or maybe even the current cheaper pre-orders that, like Mithril Ed., include the Fellowship quest packs.

If I bought the Steam Starter and got:

1. What level could I reach questing.
2. Would the game lead me through these zones, as in the Epic Quest, or would I need to just go when I had empties the previous zone of quest content?

You could get to your low to maybe mid-40s with those packs.

Evendim is a must-buy. That will get you from 30-40 and it's one of the best quest packs in the game.

North Downs covers the same range as Lonelands, and is in need of a revamp, but can break up the scenery if you don't like Lonelands.

Misty Mountains has the fewest quests of any pack in the game, and jumps around wildly by level from around 37 to 50. It's also kind of a horror to travel in.

The epic won't take you to any of these places except the Misties on-level, but what will is that little blue gift box you got when you got out of the starter instance. One of the letters in the level 20 package will take you to Trestlebridge (southern North Downs), and two of the letters in the level 30 package will take you to Evendim - one to Oatbarton, and one to Tinnudir. Another will take you to Esteldin in North Downs.

Evendim is easy to get to - just take the road out of Brokenborings past the goblin camps in the Shire and you'll go through Bullroarer's Sward and end up in Evendim - it's about a 90 second trip on horseback.

Also that site shows another way to grind TP easy with a Burn Toon, a Toon you roll just for the grind and delete when done.

I usually do the Elven one since it is supposed to be easier, I only do the Ered Luin portion that takes less than a day, nets 105 TP for each run by finishing these:
5 - Ally of Ered Luin
5 - Brigand Slayer
5 - Elf-ruins Exploration
5 - Goblin Slayer
5 - Hendroval Slayer
5 - Places of the Dwarves
5 - Scouting the Dourhands
5 - Wolf Slayer
10 - Brigand Slayer Advanced
10 - Defender of Ered Luin
10 - Goblin Slayer Advanced
10 - Hendroval Slayer Advanced
10 - Wolf Slayer Advanced
15 - Hero of Ered Luin

The Slayer deeds are the most boring but add to TP, of those I use the Accelerator for the Brigand/Hendroval then go in through the front door of Kheledûl since there are Brigands and Hendroval there, if I still need more Hendroval I go back to the Lynx Cub cave to finish.

In Ered Luin, it's Dwalin in Frerin's Court - the name of the quest is the same - A Little Extra Never Hurts.

Just create a toon, run them down to Frerin's, grab the quest, do part 1 to get the 10 points, DO NOT buy the horn for part 2 of the quest.

Once per server only, though, whether you do the dwarf/elf or hobbit/man version - you don't get to do both of them.

Plus 15 more for spiders, and 5 more for a quick tour of Rath Teraig (more gobbo kills, and spiders if you want). Possibly add in 5 pts for Reputation with Thorin's Hall (easy enough) and maybe a class Deed or two if you don't try it all in one day (or you'll hit daily caps). 130+.

I agree that the Elven one feels easier (less running back and forth), and you can pick up the +10 for ''A Little Something Extra'' at the end when completing ''Places of the Dwarves''. (Any race can start in Ered Luin - just Quick Travel there after the Intro. Be sure to hit all 4 starting elves along the waterfront area - on to the right of the docks on a stone porch overlooking the far riverview, and another up on a veranda above to the left, up some stairs.)

If you want, you then take your Level 16 character and do the same in The Shire, and then again in Bree.
