[EVENT] Theatrical Production: The Tale of Marco and Blanco

Oak n' Barrel Productions, in Association with the Bounders of the Shire (Addernotch Station), are presenting the Merry Mootsters' new theatrical, "The Tale of Marco and Blanco and the Founding of the Shire".

This is an original play, it has six scenes, with drama and comedy and a little bit of pageantry, suitable for all ages.

We'll be premiering it at the Party Tree in Hobbiton on Saturday, June 23, around 8:30 PM Bywater time (EDT, server time).

We're putting the finishing touches on this presentation, and the Warders of the Weald have agreed to play music for folks as they arrive.

I would love to attend but, alas, I have a previous engagement. Best of luck to the Merry Mootsters!

The whole thing came off pretty well, I think, in spite of two last-minute cast replacements, and a rainstorm.

But I didn't get to make my big thank you speech, so here it is!

I would like to thank all of the audience members who came out to see this show, tonight... also the ones who came to watch the (many) rehearsals and give opinions and suggestions (especially Master Parnard and Turula).

Also, thanks to the Warders, who played on... and on... and on... as we tried to get ready.

Also thank you to the wonderful cast, Fenhard and Lilythorn (and the missing ones, Dyanthus and Nelco--maybe they'll be in the encore performance!)... and the guest stars, our Tall Folk royalty, Lady Madaelin and Sir Tamroch, and their retainer, Sir Brendoran.

Most especial thanks to Lyonardo, who edited the script in the early days, making it snappier and funnier. And he played the most moving Blanco, even though his heart is broken and it was painful to him.

An' especial thanks to Meadowlark, the Bounder Chief's nephew, whose persistent enthusiasm really lifted up my spirits, when I was feeling discouraged about the whole thing. And he stepped in to play Marco, too, and did fine!

And lastly, many many thanks to the most diligent understudy and general all-around helper in every way, Miss Gennyrose. She showed up for EVERY rehearsal, which Meadowlark was the only other one to do, and she was our guiding spirit. (And she had to step in to play Blanco's betrothed, when another lass forsook Lyonardo.)

So once again, on behalf of the Merry Mootsters, thank you all, and we hope to see you next time!

This was a wonderful play, funny and touching. I loved it so much! Thank you for everyone who made this possible!

And now ladies and gentlemen... it took some time but finally it's here
As you might or might not know, I recorded the whole play. So if you missed it you can now download and watch it!

The whole movie is about 50 minutes long, it is in 720p HD quality so you can actually read the texts. Sadly I had to remove all the music of the Warders due to copyright issues.

(The size of the download is 1.37GB so be patient)

Thank you so much for recording and posting this, Floradine. And the credits at the beginning were such a nice touch and wonderfully done. Thank you!

And a huge thanks to everyone who came to watch the play. We really enjoyed performing it, but it was the audience and their reaction and interaction that really made it a wonderful event.

It was my pleasure to do this. Your wonderful piece called for a similar nice frame and so I tried to provide it. I am glad that you like it.

I want to give everyone a heads-up about the video:
I will take it down in approximately 2 weeks - some time after July 15th - to regain my dropbox space. Please download the video before that date if you want to have it. To do so, use the Download-Button on the upper-right corner of the dropbox page.

Today I came across this wonderful play again and I decided to archive it for everyone to see.

You can now find it split up in 4 parts. Make sure you watch it in HD to be able to read the lines of the actors!

    Part1

    Part 2

    Part 3

    Part 4

    Have fun!
