I'm sorry for typos, english is not my usual language.
Instance finder totally failed for grouping in so many servers.
As i said many other times. if would be really good if we could SEE all forming groups at the moment and we could CHOOSE wich one to join. like getting a big list of 200 groups forming for something and you can sign for any of those.
But turbine, this really big ramdomize? seriously? when you know there's a really big amount of players that are not good enough to suceed the challenges it has no point into ramdomize the players you get.
Please just give us a list where we can see all Open groups doing stuff and what classes they want.
This is the example of my actual Suggestion:
Instance
Tier
Group Leader
Level
Roles/Classes Needed
Players Already Signed
Special Notes
Requeriments
Ost Dunhoth
1
Saelyth
65
1 Tank
2 Healer
4 DPS
1 Loremaster
1 Captain
Saelyth(Guardian)
Aens(champion)
Bleur(burglar)
I want only people with +6k morale or that has done this raid before.
If we as players could see that info inside the game, the Instance finder would work 100% of the times (and not 20% like it's right now, i totally made up this number but you can check it yourself i bet.). we would see if there is any group forming for Sammath Gul, Lost Temple or even Raids and we could join friends or ramdom people easily.
This pannel should be accessible as a new Tab in the Grouping pannel of LFF in Social (when you press O).
The players wanting to go should have a button to "Send tell to leader" or instantly "Join" if the leader set that option availible.
As sidenote: Only the Group Leader should be able to modify the info showing in the finder like "Special notes", "classes needed" or if the group is "Visible" or "anonymous" to the instance finder.
2nd sidenote: Not need of Bonus like instance finder gives you. This option would be bonus-less and i like it more that way.
THIS is what i want inside the game, not a ramdom instance finder wich fails because we don't wanna be in a group where someone is not qualified for an specific Role.
I'm sorry for the hard critic about actual IF but i had high hopes in the instance finder just to realize that now nobody is using it to find people, only used when a group is already formed.

Re: New and better Instance Finder/LFF group pannel.
I would just like them to make the random instance feature an option instead of mandatory in order to get the full "bonus" for use. Additionally allow players to underman instances with the full bonus. Players don't want to waste time on the content that doesn't give the best rewards and it sucks watching a group sit in limbo for an hour when you have five of six players and you know that your group can easily do the six man instance. Or your duo that can do the three man content. Let us have the option to just play anyway. It's a small change that should be easy enough to add.

My suggestion is actually suppose to be a New tab in the pannel you get when you press O (first tab, i can't remember the name of it.) and you can see Kinship, Group Stage Info, Friends... well, there's a tab for LFF. this could have a place there.
If that's done. The actual instance finder keeps untouchable, working as well, so i see good the implement of your suggestion as well. And we would have the choice to use Instance Finder or what i think it's better for grouping: this suggestion.
I really like this idea and hope that turbine will make it this way in the future. It's a lot better than the &&&&&& and kinda useless instance finder we have right now ( seriously, how many people are really looking for groups with instance finder?)
If turbine would do it your way we could atleast see all the instances people are trying to do and we could pick one of them out.
Totally agree with you I posted something very similar two days ago http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...g-panel-revamp.
except that I focused more on the other side of the panel I also photoshopped it to create the panel I want :P
Fact is the tools for what you and I want are mostly already there and ready for a revamp. They only need to get rid of the quest centered system or to duplicate it at least and give us the same thing with instances. The option to select more than one would be very welcome but it'd work even with a single selectable instance. And no more OPEN fellowships. The system IS there and it hurts to see this little big improvement not done while they develop things like the fail instance finder.
turbines DDO group finder is a gem lets you know all the pertinent info. what quests are being run, how many of what is needed/wanted,difficulty of quest. this thing lets you get groups out and running within 10 mins most of the time. I don't know why it hasn't been implemented here along time ago. It also screens quests on what you own.
the instance finder was put in to let you do the least run instances for a bonus of marks.it dosen't help you find groups at all.
This is *exactly* what this game needs. The fact that after 5 years the only useful group finding tool is a user-created chat channel is just silly. Hopefully they are still working on improving the instance finder and it'll eventually look something like this.

The DDO-tool is a far better solution than a copy of the wow-tool.
I don't know how many instances has been started with the instance finder so far, i guess turbine knows the exact number, just in case there are not a lot in my server, so i suggest this... again.

Do I really need to point out the problem with this part of the idea?

When I played DDO, I used the LFM interface constantly. And yeah, it worked quite well.
