Thread: Having trouble with the signup page.

So my friend asked me to post this. She's trying to sign up for an account as she's never played, and the account creation page from lotro.com refuses to let her create a page. i checked it out, and i saw it's a common issue. if anyone can help, i'd appreciate it.

Try a different browser?

It keeps telling her that no matter what she puts in for an account name that fits the criteria for a new account name, that said name isnt valid/doesnt fit the criteria

Is she filling out the CAPTCHA security at the bottom of the page before submitting?

makesure the username your friend is creating is one word only, if the username contains 2 or more words separate each word with an underscore '_', if your friend still recieves the same error try adding a number to the username ie Username0

other possible causes although iirc these will usually generate errors
makesure the password contains alpha numeric characters and at least one non alpha numeric character ie @~£
try entering her birth date in US date formats, sometimes the system throws a wobbly especially if you use EU dates and the birth date is 30\4\1918, this wont matter for ie if the date is 11\10\1918, enter the dates as month\day\year 4\30\1918. your friend should then logon to myaccount.tubrine.com and makesure their details are correct in the system,

if your friend is still unable to make a new account contact turbine account support and they should be able assist iirc they may create the account for you
