Wondering What Day Wednesday Is in the Coffee House. (Tea, please, Wilson!)

It's an interesting feeling when you have to check the calendar to see what day it is. Wednesday already? Holy cr@p!

/thanks Wilson for a beautiful brunch buffet with all sorts of delectable dishes. Eggs Benedict, corned beef hash, custom omelets and frittatas, fresh fruit, various salads, waffles, eggs, grits, toast, muffins, bacon, sausage, juices, coffees, and teas. Yum!

I saw an article yesterday saying that in addition to a whole slew of pork BBQ sandwiches, Burger King is going to be offering a bacon sundae. It will consist of soft serve vanilla, caramel, chocolate sauce, bacon bits, and one strip of bacon. Erm. Fast food pork just doesn't sound safe to me, go figure. I'll pass.

The first chunk of packages went out this morning and the others should follow shortly. I do hope everyone is pleased with things.

And now, off to go do something useful packing-wise.

    'Morning, Landroval!

    Morning, Landroval!

A bacon sundae? As much as I like bacon... on a sundae it does not sound as appetizing. And I have to agree with you on fast food bacon. No thanks.

Anyways, hope you all have a fantastic day.

    Good morning Landroval.

Here is a small chuckle for you.

Darling daughter #2 will eat almost anything. Almost. She loathes the green chili, chicken and rice casserole I make. In fact, while at a friend's house Sunday evening, we were discussing cooking, and she told our friend all about how disgusting this dish is, although everyone else loves the stuff.

As most moms do occasionally, I had gotten into a cooking rut, recycling the same dishes over and over. I know how to make many other things, but never seemed to have the time, ingredients, or motivation to switch things up. Monday, however, I decided I was tired of the same old things, and started trying to come up with something I had not made in a while. Thanks to the rant the night before, the chicken casserole was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Guess what we are having for dinner tonight? *evil grin*

You should try the Applewood Smoked Bacon Chocolate bars, probebly would taste pretty good crumbled over an ice cream sundae.

As for fast food bacon, knowing their penchant for food prep, it well probably have been pre-cooked and cooked so many times that it well be harmless. Nutritionless also, unless your count it for roughage value.

The rest of the week is all down hill now.

    'Morning, Landrovalingas!

*digs into the brunch buffet with a vengeance*. I'll take one of each, please. Yum!

Nothing much to note today. My little brother is starting to look at moving out, so he's been cleaning out his room. I snagged some of his books and art supplies that we'd had sitting in there since we were kids. Yay, stuff!

I've also started getting my Captain through Mirkwood, and I think I'll try getting her to 75 before Rohan comes out. We'll see.

I've had a similar feeling lately. One of my regular shifts at work was moved from Wednesday to Tuesday, so Tuesday feels like Wednesday now, and I keep waking up thinking it's later in the week than it actually is.

Eeheehee... you evil person. Though that casserole doesn't sound bad at all!

Ooo, I had one of those once! It was a little strange at first, but pretty good once you wrapped your mind around the fact that you were eating chocolate with bacon in it.

Re: Wondering What Day Wednesday Is in the Coffee House. (Tea, please, Wilson!)

PAX has often had bacon-centric items being offered about the convention (bacon-flavored salt and chocolate-covered bacon come to mind) but I don't think I've ever had the temerity to try them.

I came to the depressing realization that I'd used my last coffee filter yesterday after I woke up this morning. I improvised one out of a paper towel since I'm not going to be around long enough to justify getting some more filters. I suppose I'll have to limit myself to one cup a day now since I'm not sure what else I'm getting with my coffee this way, but it doesn't seem to work too poorly.

In about a half hour someone's going to show up and take my beloved old computer desk and bookshelf away. A half hour after that my floor lamp will head out the door. I've set my computer up on the old workbench which will probably serve till Saturday. Then the workbench and the last of the everythings will disappear and I'll spend most of the day sitting in an already cleaned, renovated and empty apartment. Sounds like a job for the kobo. =) The next 4 days are looking like a small novella on my Calendar but everything's sound. I've even got time this afternoon to swing by the Cinetopia and catch Avengers again.

Meanwhile I'll kill some time finishing up Dunland. Gunolf hit 75 a day or two ago and I already had all the shiny new end-game crafted gear ready (well, except shiny jewelry). I tried figuring out how to reasonably max out the legendary weapon thing before realizing that the complexity had outpaced the fun (for me anyway) and that it's good enough as it is. The orcs certainly aren't complaining; mostly because they're dead.

In any event, that's it for me today. Thanks for the coffee and ya'll have a grand 'un!

Re: Wondering What Day Wednesday Is in the Coffee House. (Tea, please, Wilson!)

I had to decline to rent to the couple that came by to view the place yesterday. They have two cats and a puppy. They said they would keep all three of the animals in the room all of the time, which I have a problem with in general. Adding their pets to my three cats and pony sized dog would not have been a good idea (especially considering that the girlfriend is allergic to cats and dogs).

I let Emma have free roam of the house last night. I normally put her to bed in her corner of the basement before 10pm. The baseball game was a doubleheader last night, with over an hour rain delay between games, and then a power outage that held up the second game by another 30 minutes, it was well after 11 by the time I got home, and I was exhausted. I figured if I was letting the cats come into the bedroom I would try letting Emma be free at night too. She didn't make any messes, didn't tear anything up, and didn't even make much noise. I did notice that she didn't eat anything last night however; normally she only eats at night. I put her food bowl out for her in the backyard this morning and she ate about half of it, so it might be nothing.

Emma is at the groomer now. She is still not used to going out. I have to pick her up and lift her out of the backseat and she was shaking so much she could barely stand up. She is fine once she realizes that I am not going to give in and bring her home though, I try to get her out a few times a month but transporting a dog that large and working with her when she is frightened is a taxing experience.

I dumped Netflix and signed up for Amazon Prime not to long ago. They have the complete collection of ALF, this is interesting.

I have decided to make a list of all of my games that the thief decided to help himself to. Every day or two I remember another one that is missing. Last night talking with a cop friend about LA I realized that LA Noire is gone.

Re: Wondering What Day Wednesday Is in the Coffee House. (Tea, please, Wilson!)

    Highlights from Pumy's Corner:

    ☼ Novel Work Continues

This is a major portion of my life right now, though most people could probably care less. My novel has been something I've talked about, mostly casually, for years. Most people presume I will never finish. I anticipate finishing the second-round draft by next month, which will be submitted to my beta readers and then onward to my editor for polishing.

Another local author, Suzanna Reeves, and I have been meeting on a weekly basis; her breakout novel is in the editing process and she's started work on the second book of that series. Once we both finish our current novel projects, she plans to help me put together a marketing package so I can have that ready for whatever route I take with publishing (whether traditional, e-pub, or self-pub). She also wants to help me produce a movie-style trailer for it to help with promotion. It's wonderful to have such talented friends who are willing to lend that expertise out. <3

☼ Re-upped to LOTRO for the time being.

Yeah, I came back to LOTRO for now. I just can't get into WoW. I can't really put my finger on exactly what it is, but the game just doesn't interest me at all. I think it's just mostly that I feel disconnected from it. The thing that has kept me in WoW for this long has always been my friends, but I rarely see my friends online anymore. That's really the whole of my experiences: log on, see who's around, find nobody, log off.

I'll be making it back into LOTRO just in time for Weatherstock, though, which is always a blast. Secretly, though, I'm just biding my time until Guild Wars 2 comes out. >_>

    ☼ Photography and Nature Walks

I've made a plan to try and get out of the house to go walking and take photos at least once a week, both to get me out of the house and to give me practice with the digital SLR I got for Christmas. You can view some of my favorite photos here.

Good afternoon folks. Nice photos Pumy.

I've always wanted to write. It's what I would've done if I hadn't stumbled into designing dams. Actually, I would've become an astronaut. Or become a dump truck driver (I mean lifting up the back and dumping all that stuff out ... how cool would that've been!). A bacon-eating dump-truck-driving dam-designing novel-writing astronaut. Or Captain Hope.

Found a live electrical cable under the remnants of the old deck. This raises possibilities - along with potential problems. We now need to bring in an electrician too. $$$$.

Anarionadama - congratulations on successful removal of your implants! Garaf already made the borg analogy but it's still very appropriate!

So are you going to be able to go to PAX Garaf? We should definitely meet up for a dinner though, for those who are going.

In fact, why don't we plan another Pacific NW gathering for when you arrive in the Great White North? Maybe we should take Eledhwe up on the offer and go visit her when she's DJ'ing somewhere?!

Good luck with the live wire Slammy. Those can turn out to be blessings, or terrible.

I found a tick making it's home above my left ankle about 4 days ago. I have a red welt and is itching more and more by the day. This bears watching. I've had a few ticks bites in my day, but none that itched this long.

It's amazing how quickly the replacement cost of video games adds up. To the best of my knowledge my list of missing gmaes is: (Xbox 360) Dead Space 2, Skyrim, Oblivion, LA Noire, Alan Wake, Dead Red Redemption, Assassins Creed 2, Assassins Creed, MLB 2k11, Kinect Adventures, Saint's Row 2, (Wii) Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Tiger Woods 08, and Call of Duty 3. I estimate the value, including the missing controllers, to be over $400.

A lot of those should be available in a bargain bin for $10 or so. But a few (Skyrim etc) will be kind of costly... Did he take your Kinect too?

and be very careful of Lyme disease. Can be nasty. Ticks can sometimes leave bits of themselves embedded beneath the skin too. That can lead to infection like you're describing. Might want to get it looked at if it persists any longer.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll know about PAX for awhile yet. My attention's 100% on getting the move done this week. After Sunday's come and gone we can figure the details for the whole formal immigration, wedding, PAX, etc.

I was thinking we might throw a house warming shindig for the local Crewers once everything's re-assembled. If nothing else it'd be a good time to hand out shirts and break bread and all that.
