    moria raids,raid ninja looting

hello all..this is Ceg....Ive been on several watcher raids/turtle raids and outer raid where for some reason lvl 75`s or lvl 60+ people feel the need to just take loot and bail..seriously..why do you do that? its very rude and nerve wrecking to know that 11 or 23 people jsut worked there butts off (or just as much) to get loot and here your gonna go and take it all then bail.. now thoes 23 or 11 people who came on the run have locks and cant do it until the locks reset....Ive been ninja looted 6 times in a row on turtle on Gundrid, Authvrannon, and Ceg and and 3 times on watcher.....this is why Ive been leading my own watcher and turtle runs.....and another thing that gets to me is...when ninja looters try to ninja loot my raids and wonder y they don't have anything in there inventory..its because i have it on master loot and i`m sorry but next person who tires to ninja loot next raid i run and cries about it i`m going to kick you and put you on ignore.....
so please... guys and girls....PLEASE STOP NINJA LOOTING...its very very rude and frustrating..AND it brings down your reputation as well....
good day/night... i hope this solves the ninja looting problem on this server..if not... i hope it encourages others to be careful on wait the loot rule is to prevent being ninja looted for your raid
    _much love

    Re: moria raids,raid ninja looting

Ninja looting is disgusting and you should name names, but unfortunately its against forums rules, but I would still announce it in glff as a public service to other players. It never was much of a problem before F2P. Not that I'm blaming F2P players, but when you don't have to pay for access to the game it opens the door to miscreants who think they can do anything they want because they have nothing invested into the game. Sure, there was ninja looting before F2P, but in that whole time period I only know of 2 individuals that were guilty of that crime on this server.

Don't PuG, and if you must PuG, PuG with a known, trusted leader, or do what the OP has done and lead your own group. Always be upfront with the loot rules BEFORE you enter the instance and always master loot. On a side note, don't roll on things your class can't use or that stat-wise isn't a priority for your class.

EDIT: You may be hearing from the Blood~Mart legal team over the unauthorized use of naming rights in your sig

    Re: moria raids,raid ninja looting

I think there's a new crop of players out there who've hit Moria instances and early raids (such as the Turtle and Watcher), and assumed that all loot's distributed evenly. With 2 x 6 man end-game instances that are run regularly at lvl 75, and few of the earlier instances being ran, players aren't learning basic raid etiquette.

A few are likely jerks who believe they'll get away with taking the good loot and run... The prevalence of these people appearing at low levels is increasing. When they hit 75 and participate in 12-man skirmishes/raids, they quickly discover they have no control over loot, and don't get invited to raid/skirmishes again if they misbehave.

So as to Ceg's little encounter earlier today with a difficult player (that spawned this thread): I know your name, your kin, and your attitude. Be forewarned if the latter doesn't improve, or there's a repeat performance, I'll happily pass this on to every raid leader on the server...

    Re: moria raids,raid ninja looting

I can not support this thread enough.

People... you are only hurting yourselves in the long run. Today you are going to gain yourselves a few level 65 trinkets. But players have long memories. Later you are going to want to join raid groups. You are going to want to go on level 75 or even level 85 raids (after the next expansion) end game raids. The same people you ninja looted for a level 65 item are going to be on those high level raid groups, and you are going to wonder why you are not welcome.

Okay, also it is just rude. Everyone spent the same amount of time in there working for the loot. It is just selfish and rude to take community loot for one person. You want a piece of loot? Work for it! It may take you several attempts. That is not wasted time! Take that time to talk with your team... get to know people... make friends... The people you get to know may end up long-time in-game frineds.

    Re: moria raids,raid ninja looting

I agree Johnny, a list would be awesome of who isn't down with proper raid etiquette. I mean it's one thing to run a raid and leave before loot is even distributed because you know you don't need it. I do that all the time sometimes, but to get into a raid and then take other people's loot on the chance that they really need it and you don't, or you can't even use it cause it's not class appropriate for you, that's bad Mm'kay? Ninja-looting is wrong and I support this thread. P.S.- I use my ignore list to record ninja looters with a note and when I do see someone in a raid who is a known d-bag, I tend to inform the leader of it. Most of the time the leader doesn't kick them and the raid goes ok with a win/wipe and things are fine, but the leader is made aware and able to moniter the offending player, which I also find ninja-looters to be guilty of raid-wipes too sometimes. And tht's not fun when it's because a ninja won't listen and keeps getting the party wiped. Waste of time that is.

P.S.- It's always good to set loot rule to master looter before the raid even starts unless the group is just doing it for fun and games and not being serious at all.

    Re: moria raids,raid ninja looting

I'm curious as to what you're seeing as ninja looting? I'm really amazed that anyone would get ninja looted 6 times in a row, when it's only happened to me once in 5 years, and I mostly pug.

Do you mean that the leader sees the loot as so insignificant that he just hands it out at random, or that the leader master loots and gives himself everything? Or are you seeing the stuff that *everyone* gets out of the chest going into their bag?

Ninja looting sucks, obviously. But it's such a rare occurrence on my server that it's a big deal when it happens once, let alone 6 times in a row. I can't help but think there is more to this story.

I wish we could post a Nimrodel's most wanted ninja looters, Toq, but its against forums rules and would be deleted eventually. Now there's no rule against an off-site site, with a link of course.......

If you're starting a ninja loot list, why not go the whole hog and start a raid player database as well? lol

Some kind of Google docs spreadsheet/form thing'd work well (says he who pretends not to... have used this for lotro purposes before xD

I would add farmers to the list, but its getting so long now it might be a tad unwieldy.

Good luck with the list, no more how much I support this..I am sure that creating a list and posting will be against the terms.

I think the list - while talked about - will never happen Scorp. Peoples' memories tend to work well enough.

Plus if I made a list i'd want to make it all colourful, with gold stars and red crosses and black marks, and stickers for ninja looters who reform xD

    Re: moria raids,raid ninja looting

Well, the way I see it is simple, we obviously all know everyone in here at least somewhat...
just send a mail in-game or a tell or blast ninja-looters in GLFF... it's not like it isn't noticed by your friends and kin when you login
or do what I do and use the note function on the friend/ignore list to remind yourself and then let Sethco, Scorp, Spidey, Ceg, and all the other decent players and Kin leaders know as needed about ninja-looters or players who need to be ignored...

Except for me of course, I should never be ignored, it just leads to tears of sorrow and loneliness ^_^ ROFL
