Thread: Looking for a Kin That Loves Middle-Earth as much as I do

Greetings! As Bilbo said, "third time pays for all." Hopefully posting this here will grab someone's attention, because thus far I have had no success...

I am looking for something specific in a kinship, but I have had a really hard time finding it. My hope is that, perhaps, if I post this here, someone will see it and be able to direct me to what I'm looking for. My stats are...

Age: 30s.

Character Levels:Champion, 32, Guardian, 10. I also have a 55 Champion that I am considering transferring over.

Attitude: I consider myself more mature than, say, immature, and my sense of humor, while robust, doesn't generally include rude humor or dumb humor. I'm friendly, helpful, and chatty - in kinchat, I don't care much for voice chat because I'm usually watching something or chitchatting with my partner while I'm playing. I'm loyal. When I find a guild, or a kin, that FITS me, I'll stay around, especially if I make any friendships in the kin.

Availability: Depends on the week, but usually I'm available for a few hours every day, and more on the weekend. Sometimes I get online from work and am free to chat, hang out, craft stuff, maybe help a little with question, but while at work I can't really run instances and may have to run off suddenly for up to a half hour at a time. I'm currently CST-Timezone, and online-times range between 10am in the morning to 3am depending on the day.

Playstyle: I do some solo-play, but even when soloing I usually like to chat with people in kinchat or in IMs. I like to hang out and play with other people, I do like to run instances, and raid, but I'm not really obsessed with making sure I get to clear content when it first comes out. I'm more interested in the experience of doing content when my guild, or kin, is ready. I've never roleplayed in LOTRO, but I'm open to the idea for the right kin. . .

Experience: I was a raid leader, maintank, ranged dps, guild leader, etc. in WoW for about 2 years. I raided progression-content and heroics raids (Ulduar, ToC, IC). I left at the end of Lich King. In LOTRO I've usually played Champions, a Guardian once, a Warden once. . . I've never found a kin I felt really comfortable in, so I have not done any current-content raids.

What I am Looking For:

• An inclusive environment. I am liberal, Christian, female, and glbt. I'm not looking for a GLBT-themed guild, but if you have a hate-on for any of the above, please don't waste my time.

• Tolkien fans. Tolkien fanatics, even. More than anything else, what I want out of my experience in LOTRO - and have been miserably disappointed because of my inability to find - is to share the experience of being in and interacting with Turbine's representation of the Middle-Earth I love. I don't just mean playing the game with a bunch of people who liked the movies and never finished the Silmarillion, but spending time and interacting with people who voraciously devour every morsel of the Middle-Earth legendarium that they can get their hands on, like I do, and who might actually be able to have a fairly indepth conversation about some minute facts located in the History of Middle Earh series. I've been extremely disappointed in the fact that no one I've ever played the game with so far has even directly COMMENTED on Tolkien's stories. That's what I want - a kin that is playing LOTRO primarily for the opportunity to explore some new aspect of the Middle-Earth we can't get enough of.

Hopefully someone out there will know where I can find such a kin.

You left out what server you are currently on.

If you are in the Gilrain server you can consider :"The bane of the Fallen Night".

Although there are some under 21, most of us are above 25 and let's say the oldest is around 40.

We are an inclusive kin and lots of humor. Also noone is a heavy player, most of us have families and everyone understands that family comes first.

I've got toons on several servers: I've been looking for a good kin for a while. I'd prefer all messages to be left here, on the forum. I'm HOPING that such a kin exists on this server.

I'm not sure if Shadow Company fits what you are looking for, but feel free to give us a good look over. Our current Kin Leader, Captian Ioffryd, is very much into the lore and story of the world we are choosing to play in. We actually just completed a 5 part 'Lore Tour' of the world, where we spent the last several Saturdays traveling around Middle Earth and reliving/retelling the events that have passed to date. It's amazing the level of detail the developers have put into this game.... We are a relaxed, no drama group that currently spans several gaming worlds. We're always looking for more people who want to relax, kick back, and have a good time. (whatever that actually means)

Well if you are on the Riddermark server you can come check out Lords of Moria. We are all relaxed players most of us have families or are old enough to understand the family life. Im the leader and I have 3 kids myself so I know how it is. We are rank 10 so we have been around awhile.
