I rather doubt I'm the only one who has unspent tokens and flowers, and it would be really nice to be able to spend them, even with the quests themselves gone. (I'll admit I also had a quest in progress, but THAT is my tough luck. I'm NOT asking for the opportunity to finish that and earn more.)
It doesn't help that the festival ended a full hour before the time when the quests reset EVERY DAY the past two weeks.
Still. I can't be the only one who, for one reason or another, has leaves and flowers that I now cannot spend. Some of them may have been fooled by the timing like I was. Others may have had real-life engagements. There are a dozen reasons why something like this could happen.
I repeat that I am ONLY asking for the rewards NPCs. NOT any quests or events.
I know it's bad form to say what "other games" do, but most of Guild Wars's festivals (the major ones, anyway) leave the reward collectors up a full week. I'm not asking for a week here, just a day. (Although busier people than I may ask for more - three days, five days, maybe that full week.)
No need. Upgraded wallet. Space isn't the issue. The issue is that they'll be useless for 10-12 months, and while I know those collectors will be back then, it means 10-12 months of not having what I would be getting with them anyway.
As for year-round... that wouldn't work, since the ones for differing seasons all occupy the same spots. If they moved it to make them all coexist, well, that would be a crowded little area, wouldn't it? (Thorin's Hall's bar would look very busy indeed!) Plus, the barterers would be neglected except in the short time after the festivals, as people wouldn't simply wait six months to spend these tokens.
Still. A day or so is very fair. Some of the people with leftover tokens may have been prevented from spending them by legitimate, real-life reasons (unlike my own error), and is it fair to THEM to have to hold on for a whole year? They would have logged on if they could have!
Sure... Keep the barter NPCs around for a day and two threads will immediately crop up here.
One will ask that they be kept around for *2* days,
And the other will ask that the festivals be extended to cover the extra time the NPCs are available (after all...if there's someone to barter with, why shouldn't you be able to run quests to get something to barter?).
Best to leave it the way it is, lest we have continuous festivals all year around....which would render them *all* rather dull, like stores that *always* have a sale--and usually a "going out of business" sale--going on.

It would be nice (got a few extra tokens for last lotteries myself, that i could redeem), but i wont count on it being implemented..
First, the logical explanation. The barterers most possibly are close-tied into other festival stuff, so its may not be possible for Turbine to turn off one (quest givers) and not the other (barterers). It may be intentional decision done somewhat ago to just make system easier to create, but that also makes it harder to decouple now.
Second, the player problem. Like was pointed out before me, once the delay starts, there will be requests to keep it longer, and requests to allow for a few more days of quest completion, and even for delaying the end of festival altogether.
For me, its one more reason finally shell out TP for the upgraded barter vallet.
Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!
Asking the quests to stay longer would obviate the purpose of having the traders stay on - if you could keep earning, you would wind up with the same potential to have tokens you cannot spend, at the last minute.
For the other issue... as I said, the duration is up to Turbine. In the other game I play, it's a week, and anything longer than that would see diminishing returns - almost everyone who had tokens left would have spent them in the first few days, as soon as they can get to it. The exact duration would be best left to the devs, balancing availability with practicality - I have no idea all the relevant factors, but have it in my mind that "three days" would be the best. I'd still settle for one, but like I said, people with busier schedules than myself might be lucky to have an hour to devote to this game IN three days.
Whether this is likely to be accepted or not by the fine people at Turbine, I cannot say. I'm not them. But this is what this board is for. Suggestions. And, whether it is feasible or not, this one IS reasonable. I'm not asking too much, and I'm not asking only for myself. So even if my chances are slim, they're still better than if I don't bring it up at all (which would be 0.0%).
Tad Leafcutter in Bree will barter the 'metal' tokens from the Anniversary Festival year round for Marks. Also, don't forget that you can win tokens from the Lottery on the day the festival ends so you may end being left with those after the Barter NPCs disappear.
