Why I cannot stand Warrior and Bannerguard

Well, I have used Warrior on my Captain and Burglar through the tutorial, now tried Bannerguard for the Burglar in his first.

And I cannot stand either one.

My primary complaint comes from how far out in front of me either of these guys stand. Wherever I am, they insist on moving some distance ahead of me. Sometimes they wind up getting into fights with mobs this way, I found it really annoying for Burglar because I had grown used to times when I would Sneak up using Distraction to get behind a mob but these two (and I guess Protector) just take that ability away.

I may have to switch to Archer. Herbalist would be nice but would put too much of the direct combat on me and Sage I don't know if it works well with Burglar.

Protector has issues too; including a tendency to run out and round up a bunch of aggro; usually when you don't want him too. He is also frequently observed standing around with his hands in his pockets doing nothing while the fight is at hand.

I am also running a Grd with a Sage... and I like the Sage. Capable of doing damage, also roots enemies. Can pull some aggro; but generally does not stand out in front, but occasionally will run out front to engage a ranged opponent.

For my capt, I love the sage. She is smart and traps her foes while debuff them
As for my burg, I use a herbalist for healing and power since I do dps on my burg.

Yes, Warrior and Bannerguard are useless/annoying to my playstyle, regardless of character class. I got rid of the bannerguard on whichever character I had it (guardian maybe?) and replaced it with a sage, after I enjoyed a sage so much on my captain (thank you cappy forums).

That said, burglars can work well with any soldier, it depends more on your playstyle. I use an herbalist setup for power return too, so my burg can just go nonstop. Others like the archer for extra DPS, herbalist set up for healing as she tanks, so you can get the first surprise strike on their backs, protector for tanking/back-stabbing plus a bit of damage, etc.

Whenever this question comes up in the burg forums you find folks who appreciate any of the soldiers for their burgs based on how they play.
