    First Legendary weapon

I have my first LI and I have it to lvl 20. While doing this i have accumulated a lot of relics and gems. Is it worth combining them and refining them or should i wait until i get a decent LI then start doing it.

Well definitely try to combine or refine the lower tier relics if you can, they give you shards an XP runes which are both helpful. However you might as well save the higher tier ones, Also Lvl you LI to at least 31 before deconstructing, that way you get a ton of XP runes and you can strip the good legacies off of it to throw on another LI.

    Re: First Legendary weapon

    This is my thought process.

First, Do I want to have fun developing my items while I level, or do I want to view end-game (whatever that might mean at any given moment). I try to understand why people play for end game, but I don't let that get in the way of enjoying the process.

Second, I determine if I'll be buying the scrolls to remove relics from my items on deconstruct. If I will, I'll be more apt to change items sooner than I would otherwise. I buy the scrolls (especially when on sale).

Third, I keep in mind that I will have two items that I will be using, more if you decide that you want alternate choices for raiding or some such thing. This is not counting the other items that I have in inventory to level, but eventually deconstructing.

Fourth, how often do I want to replace these two items. Every two levels seems ideal to many players, especially for DPS changes. This is where, I think, most players struggle trying to decide. I have found that I will replace one item at level 53, and the other at 55, and the first at 57 and so forth. However, I don't let numbers stand in the way if I really like an item or if my replacements don't seem so good.

Fifth, slotting relics seems fairly easy this way. I will slot the crafted relic as soon as I change to a new item since I can craft new relics easily. If you can't, buying them isn't too bad. For the other slots, I have been combining my relics with this transition in mind. Combining lower level relics is virtually automatic. You won't want first or second level relics on your items anyway. As you approach your new item change, You may want to hang on to that 4th tier gem that gives you the stat you want, and combine other relics to try for a 5th level relic. At the point of changing to the new item, I want to fill all clots with the best combination I can achieve at that point. All unused relics go in the pool to build up for my other Legendary item that I'll be remaking a couple of levels later.

Sixth, I'll remember that when I deconstruct my secondary item, I'll be getting more relics and the slotted relics back if I bought the scroll. Additionally, I'll have my leftover relics and anything I've accumulated in the meantime. This means that I'll be able to slot some good relics on the secondary item and get ready for replacing my primary item in a couple of levels.

Lastly, I'll remember my first consideration, and decide that whatever misgivings I have had while doing any of this, If I've had fun, it was well worth any minor setbacks.
