Thread: Map To Bree-Land - Hengstacer Farm Single Use? Why?

I got the Legendary RoR Pre-Order and was excited to open my box of goodies and was so excited! .....

I started the questline that requires 60 "Horsing Around" quests to complete and thought 'Wow! No wonder they included a map to Hengstacer Farms with the pack! You can only complete 2 per day so that is a lot of trips to Hengstacer." To my dismay, even though the map is clearly labelled "Consumed On Use" I also saw it had a 10 minute cooldown and thought that maybe the map was like a horse token, consumed on use, but turned into a skill .... I used it and poofed over to Hengstacer and the map was gone, no skill, no repeats.

Is it so overpowered to be able to have that map be a skill that can be used as the other travel to skills are rather than a one-time use.... I mean.... really in a $70 package?

Anyways, luckily I have the Return To Bree skill on my characters but that left me feeling kind of 'meh' about the whole pre order excitement. Instead of logging in and immediately heading to Hengstacer to do my quests 60 times at 2 per day, I have to use Return to Bree and stable out (hoping the horse doesn't trip on a blade of grass part way and hoping that the computer does not crash upon zoning into Bree or zoning out of Bree with the current bugs)

*shrug* Way to extinguish my Pre-Order enthusiasm Turbine!

It would be very convenient for anyone who doesn't already have a stable-tie to Hengstacer (and I would point out that there may well be long-term LoTRO players with characters that don't have that tie, as it was a--comparatively--recent addition). The map gets you there so you can get the stable tie, if you don't already have it.

Exciting addition? No. Useless? Also no.

I just thought the map to the farm was kinda cute to be honest.. as part of the roleplay experience.. like opening a christmas present to find instructions to another location until you eventually find your gift sitting under the tree all along! Like a scavenger hunt. Anyway, the map was fun for me. :-)

If you really want to use the map more the once, just /reclaim.

Would be nice to get the "back to Hengstacer Farm skill" for finishing the deed with 60 horse quests. After that many visits on his farm Eogar should know and welcome us

It should also be noted that ALL maps that are "consumed on use" are one time use only maps.
It's not just the map to Hengstacer Farms.
