1st off Im going to get this out of the way, This post is for Turbine... its not for the customers, say what you will, but i will not reply to any one who flames this post...
I have been playing Lotro since November 2007, i paid my sub for the majority of that time... I PAID for Shadows Of Angmar TWICE! Once in a box at Walmart, and then with TP when you went free to play... I have pre-ordered every expansion... and even purchased Turbine points for Lotro and DDO on top of a subscription, Ive delt with all the little things since free to play launch, but the issues arising with ROR is the straw that breaks the camels back... Im not saying that im quitting permanently, but im taking a break from Turbine games, Im going to take my dollars elsewhere for a while, Perfect World has a few games coming out soon that look interesting to me, Neverwinter is one... Being a former Guild Wars Player, Guild Wars 2 has caught my eye as well. Neither require a sub, and both give you the complete game, with a one time cost or no cost at all! Ill pop in from time to time, see how its going... but for the most part you have lost my $$$$ until the #### your trying to pull by nickle and dimeing us to death stops...
Its truly a shame that i have to do this, because LOTRO is the only MMO that i dont get sick of, but unfortunately I cannot see paying big dollars to a company who would try and sell a game, without flushing out all the details.. 70 bux is too much for an expac of any kind, and then you want us to sub 15bux a month as well!? I feel like im being lead by a piece of string and cheese, announce the xpac...hook a few people, release a little more info... hook some more... release a little more info... hook some more... on and on.. well not anymore...
Anyways, you need to tell WB where to stick it... Lotro is 5 years old, compared to some of the newer games coming out, LOTRO is lacking in many ways... clean up your act Turbine.. and maybe ill become a loyal customer again..

I'm not going to flame the post. I'm simply going to state that this is a very ineffective way to get your data into the right hands. The simplest way to have a shot at getting it somewhere would be a PM to the Community Manager (Sapience). Second best, Senior Community Service Rep (Celestrata). To get attention paid, a *physical* letter to someone in Turbine management. The correct names and addresses are available if you search for them.
Wish my name was something like Zumba4000 (look at their names!).
Anyway, + rep. Thanks. Very valuable to hear from a long time player. People will read this, Turbine will read it - it will make a difference - more than most posts.

What's this physical letter of which you speak?? Sounds scary.

I too concur with the OP.

I posted this note yesterday, or thought I did, but now it isn't threr. So in brief:
I think RoR is overpriced by about 20% and I won't be buying it until some discount appears in the future.
I am disappointed at Turbine's approach to pricing.
I am horrified at the prospect of Turbine mandating Steam for LOTRO. They ruined the previosuly splendid Football Manager franchise and in 5 minutes would kill LOTRO stone dead.
I love LOTRO but think there is ample room for improvement and would welcome more user questionnaires to show that Turbine is listeneing and cares.
That is all. Thank you.

If you want to send a private message to Turbine, use e-mail, if you post in a public forum open to all qualified Turbine customers then you don't get to dictate who will and won't post.

Anyways, I agree with the OP.
Being over 50 I can help you out with this.
Step 1: Go to you printer an grab a blank piece of paper from the feeder tray (I know this seems a little wierd, but bare with me).
Step 2: Find a pen or pencil (If you do no know what these are, your local drug store still sells them, ask the cashier where to find them and what they look like) While there, pick up what is called an envelope, you will need it for a later step
Step 3:Write your thoughts on the blank paper (they still teach how to write in school, do they not?)
Step 4: Fold paper and stuff into the envelope. Go to the contact us page, and put the name and address on the front of the envelope.
Step 5: Now the tricky part, you have to find what is called a Post Office, you can use google for this. Put the post offiice address into your GPS, go there and buy a stamp.
Step 6: Place the stamp in the upper right hand part of the envelope. Give complete letter to the guy at the counter, he can confirm if you have done everything right.

Mandating? Really? As in, all players of Lotro have to go through Steam to play? No, they aren't mandating. They are offering. Offering players who like and use Steam to do so. Plus the possibility of new players, by having Lotro exposed to the Steam client base. Options are good.

Yeah, I have no concern there either. Frankly, I was glad they added the option finally. It's potentially a lot more players who might try the game and increase sever population.
