    Launcher Client will not update.

I start up the launcher, it gets to the Game Update Progress window, then it gets the the Update Programs step, it stops, and lotro window pops up and says that the launcher will restart and has a countdown. At the same time a window pops up that says RunDLL in the title bar. And that one says:

There was a problem starting SelfPatch.dll

    Invalid access to memory location.

Then I can click ok, and that's all that it'll do. I would like to play LotRO... won't you help me?

Reinstall? Sounds like some runtimes/dlls's are not registered correctly. Perhaps .NET. Maybe reinstall .NET v1.1 SP1? The launcher requires that .NET v1.1 SP1 be installed correctly or it'll fail. But I'm just speculating...

Operating system? Available memory? Etc., etc... would be helpful info...

first plce id suggest starting is to reboot your pc, this may be all that is required if you have just installed lotro and its pre-requisit software

failing that try launching lotro once as administrator by right clicking on the short cut and selecting run as administrator

Re: Launcher Client will not update.

I've tried both of those a couple times. I also uninstalled and reinstalled. Still nothing.

Other than that, I'm running Windows 7 SP 1, 8g of RAM and 747g free on HD.

    I'm looking into .NET now...

EDIT: .NET Framework is current. I even ran a repair, just to make sure that was ok. Still same thing.

I've been having the same problem but may have a solution. First, I downloaded the client through Steam so that may be why this is happening. Anyway, I tried going directly to the launcher and also ran as Administrator. This seems to have fixed the issue.

If you're running through Steam the game launcher should be located: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\l ord of the rings online\

Then right click "TurbineLauncher.exe" and run as Administrator.

    I hope this helps.
