    Is Lorebook still being maintained?

Just wondering if the lorebook is still being maintained as it doesn't appear to have been updated since Echos of the Dead and the known issues havent been updted since October last year?

lol, Its funny in that it shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't ever happen, but they have done things that I would have bet my right arm would never be done. Like take away features only to add them to store.

The Lorebook has never been fully up to date, they never fix old content and only add some of the new content after each update. There is a lot there but don't expect every thing to be there or 100% correct/up-to-date.

Re: Is Lorebook still being maintained?

Like the rest of the web features, the lore book is not being updated or maintained. Turbine has reduced the support levels to way below the minimum necessary to maintain the status quo. There has been some talk that there is next generation web service coming to replace the current version 2.0. Turbine never been very fast at completing any kind of large new feature or update.

A cynical person would say that Turbine can't figure out a way generate revenue from the web services. Turbine not partially interested in giving "free" stuff away unless the "free" stuff has a link to a mechanism to extract dollars from our wallets.

    Visit LOTRO-Wiki

Keeping up to date with LOTRO is a difficult job. I can't say anything about the Lorebook as I've never understood it's relationship to Turbine.

However I can recommend that you visit http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Main_Page.

And somewhat biasedly, I find it to be the most current collection of information about LOTRO on the web!

We try to keep the information as current as we possibly can. The content is maintained by a dedicated group of LOTRO players -- yes players. That means the content reflects what we actually find in the game. (And the amount of time we have available to play AND update the wiki!)

Feel free to visit and to become part of the group of us that maintain the website -- it's a WIKI, so everyone can contribute.

Since Update 7, one major source of information has been "broken" -- data.lotro.com. This is Turbine's official source for much information about items (and many other things) in the game. It is still missing a lot of information from Update 7. Also with Update 7, the link between the Lorebook and data.lotro.com "broke." -- Interestingly, oddduckcomputing.com has an iPhone App - the Lotro Herald, which does a much better job of accessing data.lotro.com than does the Lorebook.

Many of us have been hoping that the "engineering changes" necessary to support the 6th bag, as described in one of the Dev's postings, will materialize in data.lotro.com, hopefully before RoR is released. And maybe the RoI information will then work also.
