Thema: Cannot Access Login Screen

I've been playing Lotro for roughly 2 weeks now and haven't had any problems. I went to log in today a couple hours ago, but the launcher would not fully load and go to the login screen. At the top it just says "Getting data centers", and I've closed the launcher and restarted it many times and each time it gets stuck on "Getting data centers". I waited a few hours and tried it again, thinking it might just be a temporary issue, and it's still doing the same thing.

What's the problem?

try restarting your modem\router leave them switched off for at least 30 seconds. at the same time power off your PC and leave the PC switched off untill you modem\router has powered back on and connected

once your pc has restarted open an administrator command prompt and type the following
ipconfig /flushDNS [press enter]
leave the command prompt open and test lotro
if you still have the same problems type the following into the command prompt
ping gls.lotro.com [press enter]
does this display a list of numbers or do you see an error?

These are the 2 errors that popped up. I'm not really all that computer savvy, so I have no idea what they mean or what I need to do. :/

i dont know what to do and i just spent 6 hrs downloading the game. i cant find the login on the lotro home page.

if you can log-on-to and post on the forums then you can get to the site homepage by clicking home at the top right of the forums

if your having problems logging onto lotro like the OP we need to know a little more about what your problem is ie what errors are you seeing

@ Alecwynn If your still having this problem

error screenshot 1 may mean you need to install dotnet framework 1.1 and dotnet framework 1.1sp1, or you need to reinstall lotro or theres some other problem with your install of windows

the second screenshot means you need to run the command prompt as administrator. but looking at the error in your first screenshot using ipconfig /flushDNS will not resolve your problem
