Welp. I did it.

One solid week of solo pvp.

It was fun, but seriously though all I did was cheap people out with improved flies + blight. I don't know if by soloing I've earned some extra street cred Freepside, but I'm hoping I did.

for some ppl soloing is unmoral, for some is normal as everyday lol

Nah I'll probably do a lot more solo and only raid up when the situation requires it.

Ok! Fine! I considered a success to get your health as low as it was. Also, as I recall, a BA was attacking me before the fight. So, I'm going to have to subtract 50 moors honor points from that one, too.

Oh hey, opening the video with me being a complete noob, you should have recorded that fight at EC crossroads, I recall getting a good bit farther into you before dying that time XD regardless, thanks for the fights!

Non-clubbing champions afraid to stand in Blight? Meh...

I admit that the 90 damage per 3 seconds ticks during 30 seconds is OP and should be nerfed. Ask Luc about it.

Awesome video and good choice of music,but its kinda messed up how you showed only the 1v1's that you won. Soloing is not all about 1v1's,it's so much more than that. I personally saw you getting blown the #### up (by myself or others) a few times...what happened to that part?

The videos of me losing would have been a 9 hour compilation. I took a week's worth of PVP and squeezed my wins into 7 minutes, let me keep a shred of dignity sir.

LOL! But I do admire the fact that you kept your word and soloed. Plus you've gotten way better at it.

I honestly mean this post to just be a comment on gameplay and not a personal judgement.

That video had a lot of freep players standing around watching you beat up on their friends and/or creep players allowing you to reap the full reward against their enemies.

No offense, honest. Look, I think it's great when people try new things...I'm the WORST at that, so I appreciate when others can do it. But come on...those were nearly all high traffic areas that are very hard to fight in for a solo player. Very dangerous and places I try and avoid.

I honestly have to wonder how many players even know what it's like to really solo in this game.

Here we go. I knew the noble paladin solo'er was going to chime in and mention the fight clubbing and stick his nose in the air as usual.

Half the fight clubs in those videos were people standing around watching because my fights went on for like 20 minutes and people were legitimately interested in my solo challenge and to see the outcome. That last video of me fighting was cropped by like 15 minutes - Dagorlad started to watch that fight, got bored and left, then came back to watch it finish that's how long it took.

Luc I am really tired of this and your "better than thou" attitude. I took on this challenge partly because of people like you to see your side of the story, and even then it's not good enough. You said a few threads ago that you were done expressing your views on PVP. Take your own advice and stop with the soapbox.

I VERY specifically said this wasn't a personal thing. I NEVER once said anything was better than anything. YOU are reading that into what I specifically DID NOT SAY.

What I DID say however, is that it's not soloing when other players who would otherwise be threats or help, are purposefully not engaging in an open PvMP zone.

Then I hypothesized if many of the people who play unattached these days even know what it's like to play for extended periods of time WITHOUT this artificial inaction on other's parts.

I didn't soapbox about anything. I commented that your experiences solo were not my experiences over the past 5 years. I then commented/pondered that if many people even understand what I have experienced solo over these years.

It's clear that my question IS in fact valid because time and time again you have proven that you have absolutely no understanding of where I'm coming from or what my experiences in game are.

This response of yours is just another example of that. And btw, I didn't comment on balance issues at all.

Editing to add: Here's a specific example of what I'm talking about. I fight in one of those areas for 2 minutes. (long enough to get 3 bubbles off instead of 2...something that creepside complains about a lot about Champions) and I am BLOWN UP, long long LONG before 2 minutes could elapse, EVERY TIME. Why? because creeps jump in, or I engage them, if they come around.

Other champions have criticized me for "using cooldowns" early in fights. Why? because in MY world of being solo if I don't get the kill FAST I am likely to be killed by adds, either by happenstance or by purposefully call outs.

This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about when I cite "soloing" vs "soloing". And when I ask if really many players even understand the gameplay I experience. If you're fighting for 20 minutes in a high traffic area like that, then you clearly do NOT experience being solo like I do. CLEARLY without a doubt.

It's not criticism. It's not belittling. It's not being "better" or "worse". It's literally pointing out my perspective is SO AMAZINGLY different from yours. or from any of the number of other solo players who have and follow these unwritten rules of engagement that provide them with fights that exist outside of the game's inherant and normal risk/reward structure.

You can twist anything I have to say as an attack on you if you want. But that was not/nor is my intention.

Maybe the two can be differentiated with the terms "soloing" and "playing alone".

Maybe in this case the waved both sides off and they respected the wishes of the players, nothing wrong with that.

On the other hand, there is way to much collusion in the Landroval Moors. And there are people on both sides that refuse to help someone on their side if they see a 1 vs. 1, even if the person wants the help. That is #### play.

That's kind of funny actually. I think that a lot of people turned of regional because of the same reasons.

Popping off an "nub lugz bad, um smushd bluddy" so others can reply in kind does not deserve a pat on the back nor does it make the person a piece of you know what. Just as putting targets in Trade so those that wish to coordinate while un-grouped does not make you a piece of you know what, nor deserve a pat on the back.

Doing either or both does not make you a good player nor does either invalidate you being a good player. Such generalities TB...dissapointed but not surprised I guess ..you know what they say about opinions.

Yeah say what you want old friend, the problem was the people doing it then went on to berate and bash people, mostly "young creeps" in OOC for not doing what THEY wanted them to do.

If you weren't the one doing it, which I know you weren't, then it doesnt apply to you. It does however apply to the ones, and we both know who they are, that did it,and do it, on a regular basis.

If people want to chase around "the pros" and help them rank that's fine, but they aren't pieces of you know what when they DON'T.

So again, not you, I respect you as a player and person, but the little punk reavers that did and do this...none for them.

Nevermind, its a core assumption for all game design in the moors. That people will actually engage and fight one another and not collude.

Yeah, real tough to figure out.

Frankly, I think it's IMPOSSIBLE for the devs to ever balance anything if collusion is not ruled out.

How powerful is stealth in an open pvmp environment? VERY to even OP levels.
How powerful is stealth in a colluded "1v1" fight? Not at all.

If you're a game designer trying to "balance" the PvMP gameplay experience, how can you mitigate one while keeping another as a playable option?

You cannot.

Collusion RUINS all potential game design and development. The fact that people get hundreds or thousands of renown from arranged/agreed upon fights in an open zone, reinforces this fact.

It's actually sad to me that people can't understand that.

Probably the easiest thing to do Luc is to pick one of your posts (if any single one of them says it all), or write a single comprehensive one. Then in any thread you want to reply to, you can just link it...genius right?

it was nice fights with you man, btw just incase you or any other defilers thinks I'm starting to reset or run from the fight once it starts, I'm not, simply kiting the flies so by all means throw as many gourds as you can/want while I'm doing so. Usually I don't let defilers get flies off but in the few times it does happen, there is no option but to fight in it or kite it.
