Reputation items: Use multiple at once
It would be a great improvement if it could be made possible to use multiple reputation items at once. If you have 1, 2, 3+ stacks of the items, it's a lot of clicks and tedious at the moment. Fx with shift+right click or something similar to the vendor-buying.

Re: Reputation items: Use multiple at once
Alt + Left click to highlight the item then just press the "U" (use item) key on your keyboard multiple times.
Doesn't take long at all to go through a stack.

Re: Reputation items: Use multiple at once
i like this suggestion. with rapid clicks the system tells me to slow down too many inputs. so a stack can be a tedious task to submit

Re: Reputation items: Use multiple at once
You can also drag the stack to a quick slot (for example the number 5) and just hit the button......a lot

I would love this... Make it just like buying multiple items from the vendors!

I'm desperate for this. So many stacks of items. I don't want to constantly spam a button just to activate them all. Either allow us to use multiples, or even just bring the barter guys back so we can hand in a stack in one go.

Re: Reputation items: Use multiple at once
How about a toggle option instead?
"Award reputation instantly on pickup" [checked / unchecked]
Checking this option would instantly use the item on pickup if reputation gain is possible. If you're already Kindred it just stores the item in your bags.
Why a toggle option? Because some like to AH their reputation items, even if they are not Kindred (ie. alts)

Re: Reputation items: Use multiple at once
You can actually drag the same stack to two different quickslots (ie, 1 and 2), and click both buttons back and forth even faster than you can spam 1 button

I've never gotten a "too many inputs, please slow down" error while spamming rep items from my hotbar. Sometimes it might not register a click, but it never locks me out for spamming uses.
I really doubt adding multi use functionality to rep items would be worth it in terms of a) how much time it actually saves you over the life of an average character, b) how much time and effort it'd take to code, and c) the inevitable people complaining they clicked the wrong button and used more of their item than they intended and want CS to restore them.Droid's Combo-button Mastery for Wardens (AHK script): http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...button-Mastery

Re: Reputation items: Use multiple at once
An easy solution here would be to simply restore the old rep barter option (without removing the new option of clicking on the item to use it). Have 200 barrow treasures or dourhand crests? Go to the guy in Bree or TH and turn them in in lots of 10, fast and easy. Counting travel time it might not be faster than clicking 200 times, but it's certainly easier on your hand.
For rep items you have in smaller quantities, there's no problem with the current clicking method.
Time and effort for Turbine to code: zero.

/signed for both great suggestions
the +ctrl (sell all) or +shift (sell qty) option is in my view a better option however the idea of 'auto add Rep' on pick up of item sounds simple and elegant.
To the folk offering us 'solutions' to quick slot items; thank you and yes adding to hot bars and clicking away to your hearts content works. . . . But if there is an existing game mechanic in place that could be simply coded to another use would you not use it ??
Cheers

clicking on the rep item could give use a menu like the one u get when you want to destory a stack. then you can choose how many u want to use

It used to be a lot easier when we had the npc interface, both because it was more responsive than clicking from bags, and it submitted whole stacks of the lesser items by default.
This suggestion would make it a lot less tedious.

While i would like to see this option added, i can guess problem with it: if usage of the whole stack would put you at more rep than Kindred. I'm guessing Turbine's code would have trouble with this, processing immediatly the maximum number of items you need to use.

I agree, and sign this petition. It is really annoying to have to click through a full stack, and it doesn't even go as fast as you can click. Even if they just put the barter NPCs back, we could then barter 10 at a time and use the left-overs individually. But I like the idea of being able to specify how many better, or a toggle to just use the whole stack.

I'd like this as well, but I also see how complicated it might be to change the existing system.
Here's an alternative:
In the past we had barter NPCs who were also the quest givers for the introduction quests. Bartering would only be allowed after we finished the quests.
Well, they are gone now. This caused a problem in Moria where reputation items used to be good for 2 factions, so
1. the old items were limited to one faction
2. new items were introduced and
3. 2 barter NPC would exchange them for the corresponding item of the other faction
Complicated? Yep, it is. And so far it has nothing to do with the problem.
How about ...
having a barter NPC in all big quest hubs who accepts ALL barter items? So one with 300 Moria rep. items could go to any barter NPC in the world and trade them in quickly.
If this was done in the beginning, separating the 2 factions in Moria and creating a overcomplicated system would not have been necessary as well. One would just select another line then and trade the items in for the other faction.

That would not make sense either, the realism is that a trader risks more than his life is worth to cross lands now bloated with everything for orcs to nazgul, which is what would have to be happening for one vendor to barter in all things. In a specific region, not so much. So to keep some sense of reality, there have to be certain vendors who only deal in certain items, in certain places.
The original idea in this thread has great merit and is, from a programming standpoint, a relatively simple task. Where ever you have to sell your items, or barter them, or whatever, allow vendors to buy from the character, the same way the character buys from the vendor: sell items click by click, shift+left-click to sell an entire stack, or alt+left-click to sell a specific quantity.
For bartering, no difference, whatsoever. Instead of coin you get or give stacks of whatever you are bartering for.
In fact, it is beyond imagining why this simple process was not implemented to begin with. One can only hope that it wont take a virtual eternity for someone in the debugging department to understand, locate, and correct it.

I've often thought this would be a good idea. I'd like to be able to right-click a stack and choose "Use All" from a context menu. I do use the "u" key, but it still takes 100 keystrokes to use a stack. Better than 100 mouse clicks, but far from ideal.
