    Going away

For a solid month. Today will be the last of the weekend fights for me/Yick/Vyxe for at least another 4-5 weeks, so I encourage you all to be there!

Will be headed over to Alabama to train/perform with the International Montgomery Ballet. Would be happy to give info. to anyone who might be interested to see the performances on the 13/14th July.

Regardless, hope you guys keep the fun stuff, I know it's going to be difficult (on a side note) keeping up the numbers with games such as GW2 out. Not to mention, I'm not sure how much I'll be involved with lotro after watching a FF Tournament clip of the beta - it looks very promising.

    Kudos.

Have a good time man. Hope you get back in the game soon though.

You're going to Alabama... to do ballet....

That's like going to Ireland to study cooking.

Haha, they were entertaining, to say the least :3 Cheers

And Krist.. fairly sure ballet in Alabama is like, the most wanted thing on everybody's "To Do List". You just don't stop hearing people talking about it ALL the time.

I don't know why I assumed Kelly was a dude. I never took notice of the user name. I'm feeling really stupid now.

I.. am a dude? At least, last time I checked I could swear I was.

And since when was my RL name Kelly? Curious.

    Sylidor.

I think for all intents and purposes we could call yesterday's 'send off' a success, no? Between the ridiculously fun freep raid earlier in the day, the evening 1v1s, and the hilarious creep group later that night, it was absolutely brilliant. Crazy as hell, but brilliant. You know, over the past few months I have come to respect you as a great player, an exemplary leader, and most importantly as a brother. Not to mention the ts3 moments... I don't think I'll forget last night's comment from Snozzberries: "Are you guys high? Have you guys just smoked a bowl?" Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

In all seriousness though, may your journey be a safe and prosperous one.

Except my Gandalf impersonation is actually pretty good. Sylidor's Frodo on the other hand... Well...
As for the giggles? I'd say they were more like manly oceanic chuckles... Right?

No, they were out and out giggles, hence the question :P
It did move to your oceanic chuckles a bit after that lol.

And yes, your Gandolf impersonation was good. Frodo sounded a little...funny, but I think it's more from the accent than anything.

    Re: Going away

Bored at work so here's a little bit of going away poetry for you... It sucks, I'll admit it. But if you've raided with Syl you'll probably get the references.

    --------------
    Sylidor's Brands
    --------------

    "Stick with the shield
    Fart when I fart"
    A most dangerous 'brand'
To put fear in their hearts

    Too many freeps?
    Pull all NPCs
    Charge into the keeps!
    Mistake Tyrants for CGs

    On TS with Vap
    Creepside, where it's at
    Making noises which sound like
    Sniffs mixed with f... f...

    "Not doing this, guys
    Blimey, was that my dog?"
    She ate 3 large steaks
    In 2 minutes approx.
But the raid keeps on going
As the bard keeps on singing
    Stick with the shield, guys
    Even if his phone's ringing

    He's a pointy eared elf
    Who loves pointing toes
    As well as ballet
He loves roots, stuns, and slows

    His hat fell off
    Revealing short cut hair
    Return the Moors soon
Aye, we will greet you there

That would require you to consider Celderon as a leader.

    Re: Going away

Well, depends what you mean by raid leaders. If you mean the ability to talk about how you are a raid leader (but never get around to leading a raid where the odds are slightly against you), then the freep side has lots of leaders. We are especially keen in having multiple people in a raid talk about how a raid should be led.

If you mean someone who walks the walk, and actually leads semi-regularly whether or not the odds are against him, then yes, Sylidor is the last remaining raid leader. Or was.

    -Syn

P.S.: It may be possible there are a few aussie leaders out there, but they are not in my timezone to know.

Lol, thanks guys. Was an absolute pleasure to meet you Mrs Snozz.. my Goosh we cacked ourselves just a bit

VAAPAD. You made my day.. you honestly just epitimised my life, lol.

Syn. I talked to Rax/Celderon this morning, and I would like to talk to you, Yasmina and Vaapad also. As far as I know, you guys lead (I havent been in anyone's raid except Vaapad), and I need to speak to all of you together before I leave for A. This morning was not good enough from some of the people in your raid (just listening when I first entered Ts3), and although that's been sorted out, I don't want it happening again.

Regardless, I will keep leading when I get back Syn. I told the raid on Saturday that as long as people keep performing/listening the way they did then, I'll ditch GW2 and stay in this broken pvp game. Fo realz.

Thanks sistah! Although Gando, to really get in the festivities of it all - you could cheer for me whilst in your set of white ballet tights?

Put it this way.. In addition to what it normally is, I don't think any creep in the moors would go anywhere near you.

    Concerning Sunday...

When one first starts forming a raid, he has to advertise and pull people together to get enough force to make a difference. I had spent roughly 20 minutes before that running solo in the open field, advertising for TS to get enough people inside TeamSpeak (there were only two people on it at the start, the Rax fella was not there). After spending that time I formed the raid with about 12 people. One, and only one, was a healer. The creeps increased from about 15 to 24. As you can imagine, that created a rather difficult situation, outnumbers about 2 to 1, with only one healer.

As you know, the process of forming a raid takes time. You have to move about the map, engage what you can, take what creep groups you can, keep your force occupied and entertained until you get enough force to face them. Rax's solution to the problem was to brow beat me over the head, using his position as 'raid leader' in teamspeak (I don't believe either of us was aware of it at the time, but it had a very unfortunate result).

The Rax guy in team speak I don't know who he was. But he was marked as a 'Raid Leader' (one of the many freep 'raid leaders' who don't lead raids) in Teamspeak. I was not. This created several problems right up front. He spoke a lot in the battles and when moving, this in itself was not bad except that as a 'raid leader' every time he spoke I was automuted. He used this opportunity to brow beat me when outnumbered two to one, while I was trying desperately hard to get my numbers up large enough to face the creeps (especially in healers). This is one of the many reasons people did not hear me when I said 'mount up' among other things. Then when you entered and started speaking (another 'raid leader' on team speak) I was further muted. In the battles when he called out actions, I was further muted, making it impossible for me to direct anything, and the raid began splitting up. By the time I invited you to shut up Rax's unending tirade and automuting me I had *finally* obtained 4 minstrels and about 18 total forces to face the creeps. But I had, had enough, and left.

My fix for the solution is very simple. I have stopped using team speak, and I have never advertised for it since. I still don't know who Rax is (it wasn't Raximus).

I'm sorry to hear about the experience. I am assuming that you are speaking of Raxlyn so someone to that effect. Being that he has not led raids in a very long time and was pushing on another person trying to lead raids...At this time his raid tag has been removed until such time as he begins leading on a regular basis and requests the tag back after consideration from the admins. If you are still interested in leading I would like to extend that offer to you along with a raid leader tag as you have led on multiple occasions and seems to still have an interest in leading. If you do not wish it that is not a problem...but as the matter above has been resolved, I would like to extend an invitation back into TS as a raid leader.

After spending that time I formed the raid with about 12 people. One, and only one, was a healer. The creeps increased from about 15 to 24. As you can imagine, that created a rather difficult situation, outnumbers about 2 to 1, with only one healer.

As you know, the process of forming a raid takes time. It won't happen again.

Like I said, as soon as you left I pulled Rax/Cel into a more private channel, and believe me.. there won't be the same result. I personally don't know everything that entailed (as I wasn't there until it was at breaking point), but regardless, I've made it VERY clear to everyone on Ts3 that whoever is the raid leader deserves total respect. (That is, unless the leader simply isn't putting the effort/correct attitude towards leading). So, I would like you to be back please man, like Yicky said, we will establish raid-leading tags to those we think deserve it, and move on.

On that note however, I would like to add this is a game, and it is designed to have fun (which I believe is at its best when in raiding/grouping/teamwork situations such as raids). So guys, chat, laugh and have a beer while grouping/raiding, but give your leader EVERY ounch of your attention when he/she needs it. It can't work any other way.

    Re: Going away

Yicky, since Sylas has brought this matter to the boards, I don’t think this matter has totally been resolved. I think it is unfair for those in the community to have only one frame of reference, that was imo, an emotionally subjective prospective and warrants another side.

So, I would like to first apologize to Synlas, for his experience that Sunday and would like to offer some information about the incident before, during and after Synlas rage quit, making it hard to talk with him and resolve the matter immediately afterwards.

Yes, I am Raximus Rax the Warg. But before Raximus, I was Raxlyn the Hunter and one of the very first raid leaders on E. So, let me make several points clear.

I participated in the FreepTS for the sole purpose of giving support to the new Freep TS community, to have fun with a friend and visit old friends on Freepside. My intent was not to lead raids on TS at this time, but to support and encourage new raid leaders.

As for the automatic mute permissions and “raid Leader” icon, they were given to me, without my knowledge or understanding of why. I honestly didn’t know I was auto muting people when I pushed my talk button and I certainly didn’t mute people to brow beat or use for malicious purposes.
    Now, for Sunday’s episode;

“Rax's solution to the problem was to brow beat me over the head, using his position as 'raid leader' in teamspeak (I don't believe either of us was aware of it at the time, but it had a very unfortunate result).” - Synlas

If you were to ask people who were in TS, ask them if I yelled, screamed, or belittle the raid leader or anyone else?

Ask them if my statements of suggested tactics were made during down times and not in the middle of a fight. I believe, I made them once and left it at that, then carried on with the raid leader’s instructions.

Ask them if made encouraging statements to the raid leader during that time.

Ask them if I was “brow beating” him?

“He spoke a lot in the battles and when moving, this in itself was not bad except that as a 'raid leader' every time he spoke I was automuted. He used this opportunity to brow beat me when outnumbered two to one, while I was trying desperately hard to get my numbers up large enough to face the creeps” – Synlas

I spoke a lot, because you made me target raid assist and I was calling out who I was targeting, creep positions, and tracking information. And again, I was totally unaware that I was auto muting you and everyone else.

“By the time I invited you (Sylidor) to shut up Rax's unending tirade and automuting me I had *finally* obtained 4 minstrels and about 18 total forces to face the creeps. But I had, had enough, and left.” – Synlas

Again, ask anyone that was there, if it was an “unending tirade”? I think Synlas took everything the wrong way, because of the auto muting permissions that were given to me. And, let me point it out again, I had no idea I was doing that to everyone in the channel. So, to Synlas, it may have seemed that way.

Again I apologize to Synlas, for the misunderstanding and the view of the experience that transpired on Sunday. The auto mute permissions and “Raid Leader” tag have been removed.

I encourage you to rejoin FreepTS and continue to grow as a Raid Leader, but most importantly, have fun…
