Hello i have a question id like some help with from those who 100% know.

I owned lotro for many years but did not play and have recently returned to the game, i own all the expantions and quest packs and i unlocked gold cap and similar things.

I have premade 7 chars alts inc my main lv 27 and was told if i sub and log each char it will unlock their virtues and traits and such perminently even when i cancle the sub afterwards.

So how does this work ? Do i sub and then log onto each 6 lv 1 chars and then straight back out or must i be logged in for a certain amount of time or get to a certain lv ? and is there any indication that when i log on these lv 1 alts ive premade it will show that they have all their future content perminently unlocked.. what is the way i should do it? thanks.

1. Get VIP
2. Login to each and every character (at least ONCE while you have VIP - doesn't matter how far into your VIP as long as you're VIP)
3. Press J twice. Press I twice (to clarify those 2 changes were made to unlocking).
4. Play/Hiatus or w/e while you wait for your VIP to run out - Cancel VIP a week or two later, not right away.

I don't think there's a level limit.

Signs: You'll see all 5 bags unlocked and open when you press I. You should no longer see the Turbine Store icon in the trait slots as you level up.

There no minimum time to have each char logged, as far as I know. Just log them in, open the virtues panel to make sure the slots have been unlocked and then log back out.

But my char will all be lv 1 apart from my main so how will i know this ? and does cancleing the sub straight after affect anything ?

What do you mean play hiatus ? i can play the game cant i lol and can i cancle hte sub straight away after logging each char.

If you cancel your sub straight after, then it will be treated as if you never subbed. You need to wait a few days before cancelling your sub to make sure that Turbine doesn't treat it as a change of mind.

As far as your chars all being lvl. 1, can't you still open your virtues and traits panel then? If not, then I'd at least put each char through the intro quests.

Edited to add: If you cancel right away and turbine treats it as a change of mind, you won't be charged for the sub. You need to have actually paid for your month's sub to get the perks.

Yes. As long as you log them in during your VIP time, they will have:

no gold cap
5 bags
all trait slots
5 auction house slots
swift travel

Maybe a couple of other things. The trait slots and swift travel are level gated, some of the swift travel is rep-gated, but you do keep all those perks. You can tell when you log them in - you'll see all 5 bags instead of the points icon covering the last two bags.

So if i sub and then when sub has ended i lv up that lv 1 to lv 75 will all the trait, virt, leg slots be unlocked as i lv ? thats the main worry as they are not open at lv 1.

Do we get the swift travel to all regions or only to the ones we visited and talked with the stablemasters?

All regions. But you won't be able to swift from Caras Galadhon to Rivendell at 10. Neither can VIPs.

Stable routes open by level and sometimes by rep, trait slots open by level.

Hey someone in game jsut said if my LV 1 ex VIP gets to lv 10 20 30 40 any swift travel will be lockd because im not vip anymore and was not there when i had it... is this true ? or will all swifttravel int he game be unlocked for my lv 1's im saving for the future ? same with virtue slots and other content.

They're wrong.

Okay, say your level 1 gets to level 20. There's a swift route from West Bree to Esteldin - but you can't use it because you need to be level 30 to swift from West Bree to Esteldin. Once you hit 30, you will have no problems using it, provided you logged in your level 1 toon during your VIP period at least once.

Ok thanks a lot i was confused and worried i wouldent get future content if i was just lv 1 and logged but ive logged my 6 alts and play my main now so all should be ok

Characters created after a subscription downgrades from VIP to Premium will only have access to beginning area swift travel routes.

That bit about "each character will only have access to the swift travel routes which that specific character could access" I believe refers to level and rep gated swift travel, I know for a fact that you can still discover and use new swift travel routes as you level after you downgrade.

Ok cool so it should all be ok then and i can keep them all lv 1 as long as i logged them ocne each, i upgraded to VIP today but have not got my 500 TP yet ? normaly with othe rgames you get them isntantly after subbing, how does it work with lotro ? i dar enot cancle my sub yet incase they dont give them me or soemthing.

Don't cancel for a few days to give the transaction time to complete through the bank.

You should receive your points within 48 hours (so the transaction can clear).

And what happens to my 20 slot wardrobe when my sub runs out ? does it stay like the other things or does it get removed?

That gets removed, but the items that are in there already will stay. If you remove the items, you lose the wardrobe slots.
