The Old Ered Luin Introduction Questline

I hadn't started an Elf or Dwarf is so long! Just did and noticed this:
    • The slug quests are gone
    • The fly quests are gone
    • Etc.

Maybe I missed something? Why did the intro quests change? The new ones are kinda boring...

    NO MORE LEGENDARIES - This isn't a job, it's a game.

They revamped all intro areas around 2 years ago or so.

Only about one year, not two, and just the Elf/Dwarf intro. I think the Man/Hobbit intro got changed before or during the Free-to-Play conversion.

I guess that shows just how long it's been since I created a new character :P

    It was twice.

They revamped both areas with F2P. If I remember rightly, that was when the slug/fly quests were put in for the Elf/Dwarf intro, but most of it what was there was left intact. Compare that to the Man/Hobbit one, where they added unique voiceovers for all the quests, changed the layout of Archet and added droves more NPCs, rewrote half the quests, remade the final instance to resemble a skirmish...

In a subsequent update, they redid the Elf/Dwarf area again. That time, they gave the Dourhands a makeover with a more diverse texture set, remodeled a lot of the Thorin's Gate landscape (including adding those mines and machinery on the western portion, rewrote most of the quest line (and unified it between the two races, like it is for the Man/Hobbit one), and redid the final instance with some impressive visuals.

What I find interesting is that in Ered Luin, it takes fewer Quests to complete those three deeds that require you to complete a number of Quests in the region (Hero of Ered Luin, Ally, etc.) compared to the amount for The Shire or Bree.

The number of Quests required is based on the number of quests available. Ered Luid is quest poor in comparison to Bree, Combe, Archet and Breeland or The Shire.
