Hey everyone. I'm Sabriella and I lead a kinship called Shadow and Flame on [EN]Gilrain.
A year or so ago I wrote a quiz for my kin and since it was such a great laugh I thought I might share the idea with you all as well as offer the actual resources I made for the event to anyone who is a kin leader / officer / member who wants to host such an event within their own kinships. If you reply here expressing an interest, I will happily send a PM to your Turbine Forum account containing the complete quiz (and answers).
~~THE QUIZ~~
Let me tell you a little about the quiz. First of all, it contains 5 rounds.
-The Riddles Round - Yes, ok, I wrote riddles specifically for my quiz. Don't judge me, it is Lord of the Rings after all. There are 8 riddles which I intended to be varied in difficulty. They were tried and tested by my kin and there was one team who answered all riddles correctly, so they're not TOO hard. They reference NPCs, quests, areas and book characters.
- The Odd one Out Round - I wrote 4 questions which relate to various parts of the game including class skills. This is the round to catch out people who might be tempted to use Google
- Complete the NPC Quote Round - It is exactly that. 6 more memorable quotes from NPCs throughout instances in the game to be completed if you have a good enough memory!
- General Knowledge Round - 15 questions which relate to quests, NPCs, locations, instances, loot, etc.
- Picture Round - For this I basically roamed Middle Earth on my characters, taking screen shots. The idea is you basically have to guess where I am in the screenie. For some, I have zoomed right in but have always left a little evidence on screen to point the way.
I hosted the quiz on our kinship's ventrilo server. I set it up so that people worked together in teams in their own channels in vent whilst I read the questions to all channels, which allowed people to interact with their team mates but not overhear other team's answers, etc. Some people were teamed with kinnies they never usually got a chance to interact with, which was nice. If you do not have vent, you could just copy the questions into kin chat
To give me their answers, one person from each team sent me an in-game mail with the answers at the end of each round, though of course an IM would have been fine too.
For the picture round, I uploaded the screenies to a Quiz thread on our kinship forums and people had to type a guess for each picture and again mail the answers to me.
Prizes were given, fun was had and memories were made. All involved said it was brilliant fun and since I cannot use the same resources again, I am now offering them to anyone who wants them.

I would love to be privy to your quiz! I'm always open to new ideas for our kinship Friends of Frodo on Vilya, which, in keeping with our Leader's example, creates and promotes kin events many times a year. As the 2nd in command, I strive to be as creative! The efforts you've put forth to create this contest is something to be admired, and I will be certain to reserve credit to you if I proceed with all or some of what you share with us.
