Wow! Selecting a group skirm can get you killed easily...
I have not Skirmed much in the last few months and recently began some familiar one's again.
I got the impression from the general forum complaints that the skirm panel was too slow, encouraged bigger groups for better rewards and rewards have changed.
But I wanted to do a 6 Man skirm tonight (first time) so I selected as much, Defence/Pony (wanted an easy one) and it was changed to 1 Man Solo so I changed it back to 6 man (Tier 1).
I expected a delay and anticipated the initial "who's on a Mic, blah blah".
I was put right into the Skirm, it said Fellowship, and clearly there was clearly no surviving after the second defeat. So did I do something wrong or is the Skirm machanic a gamble? I hate to say the word bug, but is this normal or a new issue?
Thanks all for any advice.

Reason: spelling "blah".

If you got put into it right away, that means you actually started a 6-man skirmish and went into it alone. To group for it with random people, use Simple and Advanced tabs of Instance Finder, NOT the Specific.

yep, as the previous poster said, you can go into an instance undermanned with the specific tab. if you use the advanced tab and don't have the number to match the group size that you have specified it will put you in the queue until there are enough people that have the instance/size/tier selections to match. you will get currency and potentially morale/power bonuses from going advanced if you have a high enough percentage of the available skirmishes/instances selected for it to choose from (for skirmishes, I think letting it choose from at least 14 of the 18 will give you the maximum bonus of +50% currency and +5% morale/power).
