At present, the best tools in the game (both at Tier 5 and Tier 6) are from one-shot recipes. Since one naturally desires that the tools be crit'd...they tend to be comparatively expensive to make. In addition, there are no Tier 7 tools at all. No one knows--yet--what Tier 8 will bring. What follows is a proposal to revamp the higher level tool setup...
1. For each crafting tier above Tier 5, add a repeatable Guild recipe that makes a tool or tool-set identical to the next lower tier. That is, at Tier 6, you can make an automatically crit'd Tier 5 tool. At Tier 7, an auto-crit Tier 6 tool-set. At Tier 8, have a Guild reusable version of the Tier 7 tool set recipes. Required level to equip would be the same as the lower tier version.
2. Add tool sets to Tier 7. Taking the analogy from the Tier 7 crafting scrolls, make the Tier 7 tool sets be +20% to crit for all three crafts (Turbine appears to be reluctant to go above +20% on tools). Tool sets would require level 65 to equip.
3. When Tier 8 appears, improve on the Tier 7 tool sets by increasing durability (since that's just about the only thing that is left that *could* be improved by then). Tool sets would require level 75 to equip.
This is an extension of previous suggestions regarding the future of crafting tools.
Will there be a new tier of Crafting?
Yes! New tiers include armor sets at levels 80 and 85, Tier 8 crafting tools, and we’ve been sure to include a crafted relic for tanking.

Yes, he's seen that. What's your point? Did you read the OP?
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won

Yes, I did read it. Perhaps I misunderstood the "no one knows what tier 8 will bring" sentence (hence a link showing that tier 8 will bring new crafting tools), but that is no reason for your attitude.
And not that it's any of your business, but I made that post quickly meaning to follow up on it later. I wanted to get that link in there specifically in case he HADN'T seen it, so that he would KNOW there are new tools coming. Then when I come back to it I find you and your attitude.

Actually, I HADN'T seen it, so thank you very much for the link. Now we get to wait and see how the T8 tools are implemented, both in terms of recipes (world drops? Guild--which I'd prefer--or what...) and stats on them.
well you have my vote, was confused for a bit but I do have to disagreed with the level equip..I have my low toons all masters crafters
The level to equip is just to be consistent with what we already have. Right now, the minimum level to get +20% crit rate on *production* crafts is 45. Once the cap is 85, that probably will be considered to be "low level". YMMV.
(And don't feel too bad. Three of my Westfold Master/Master of the Guild crafters are low level...8, 13, and 34.)

I think you´re overlooking the very important matter of crafting speed. THAT would be a very important bonus. Less mindless waste of time, better use out of crafting lore. Lets hope we get something useful, not some durability upgrade.

Like crit chance, Turbine may wish to limit speed to what we have now, so I consider it unlikely that crafting speed will improve much, if at all. This is also backed up by the move to make more bulk recipes.
I don't think that crafting speed is an issue in *most* cases (yes, there are exceptions) since many recipes that are executed in large quantities tend to have high-volume variants.
Mind you, if *anything* got a speed boost Farming would be first on my list, followed by Scholar, and only then Cook. No other production crafting really needs it.
