It's probably just me, but I have no interest in mounted combat in any game. It has to be a goofy way to fight something. Casting classes would not look right fighting on horseback.
Although I'm sure some like it.

Not at all just you, mounted combat is the reason my life in Turbine's warped view of Middle-Earth is drawing to a close .. my LMs agree with your view about casting classes on horseback .., but I thought it amusing that the BIG FEATURE in RoR may well not be the first we see of it this year.

I watched The Two Towers the other day and I saw Gandalf using his staff to emit a radiant light on his foes towards the end of the Battle for Helms Deep. Surely, LMs do also have a part to play in mounted combat? Until you have tested mounted combat with your LM, you should reserve judgement on the feature. :-)
