For anyone wondering about the Steam Starter Pack horse...

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else, but earlier today I was wondering whether or not to buy the Steam Starter pack purely for what it contained (I have no intention of using Steam). If anybody was wondering what the horse looked like in more detail than what is on steam (mostly for the horse collectors out there!) well this is it:

It's name is Cloudy (For the horse, I am not sure about the pony for Hobbits/Dwarves). It has 250 health, and travels at 68% faster than normal horses (I realise there was some confusion over the speed of the horse because what was written on the Steam website - it is definitely 68%!)

So, yup, sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I just thought it might be useful for people wanting to see the horse before buying it themselves.

EDIT: The Pony sized version of this steed is called Hazy! I think I prefer that to Cloudy! It obviously looks the same as the horse version but smaller, but here are some screenies of it with my new Hobbit warden, because I like horses and I like taking screenshots :P

Before buying I checked the screenshot on the Steam homepage

But I am sure it will help anyway.

As did I, but I don't much like using them, I always prefer to see them ingame D: I don't know why.

Regardless, the info is there too. I quite like the name "Cloudy" :P

Yeah, that's nice. I actually already bought it yesterday, I thought the special offer was going to end at midnight. Looks like we got another day however.

Oh I see, Im assuming you applied it to your current LOTRO client rather than redownloading?

What was it that drew you to the pack, the points and horse?

You can apply the code to your current account - that's how I finally got a +68 horse for my main character yay

I guess I would also get the quest packs, but since I have a LTA I didn't get these of course.

I did this for other MMOs as well in the past, bought some special offer from Steam then added it to my normal account.
In this case I started the download, copied the code and then deleted the local files again.

I even made a 2nd steam account to get a 2nd code for my girlfriend.

As far as I know, names are randomly generated, so I don't think every horse will have these names. And as mentioned, you are able to rename them.

They're not random, each horse and pony in the game starts with a default name, unique among all the other mounts. It's fun to see what names were chosen for each breed. A lot of times (like in this case, with Cloudy and Hazy) they match the theme of the horse.

One person is putting together an outfit to match this horse over in the cosmetic outfits thread: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...outfit/page197. I think it's already quite a nice match for a rare color scheme in this game.
My characters are listed at my lotro-wiki page.

I just got it, too. This may be the first Turbine-related, genuine bargain I've ever gotten. Pretty nice horse, and account bound is wonderful.

I think mine was in a packet - I remember fumbling around wondering where it was.

eta: I'm not sure why, but I think you have to start the actual Steam download to get this to happen. I started, then paused, logged into my usual game & found the horse in an envelope...
