    Thoughts of ranked weavers

Ok so I know there's a few bad### weavers out there, I want to pick your brains. What do you all slot at the corrupter? Damage or survivability? Morale vs crit prot vs tact mit(threre is a LOT of freep tact damage on my server)? What are the must have skills/traits, and what makes them so? I want to be the best spider I can be, and make the most inf I can. Tactics are welcome as well, but I'm mostly looking for traiting advice.

i agree with croutoncabbage, but id go moral for power, cause you can fight for about a half hour constenly using skills and not run out, and there easier to kill to. paralisic venom and lie in wait is wicked, i usualy wait by the rez, wait for them to ride out, then stun them so they dont get away on horse, it really works and you can choose your targets so you dont get killed by a rank 12 freep. also really affective if you get a few spiders or wargs.

    Btw I should've mentioned this before, but I currently run MfP1&2, DfP1&2, masteryx2.

    Currently I run with HFP1 + 2, HFD2, DFP2, Mastery x 2.

Gives me a fairly good balance of Morale + Damage. You certainly find that Audacity + Catch Prey + Born Of Shadow makes a big difference so getting them helps quite a lot especially in fights that last a while.

I am solo all the time so maybe different if you raid / group.

Yea I got born of shadow, will be getting catch prey with next months TP(wasn't a priority since 3/4 of damage hitting me is tactical), and aud as I get comms, not spending comms on anything else right now. Catch Prey looks uber, but 90% of the freeps I'm fighting are mini's & RK's, BPE doesn't really help me not get blown up. That 4 target -10m range debuff is pretty useful for minis, makes a zone where I can hit them and only a couple things they have can hit me(though staying in that zone isn't always easy).

90% of your enemies are minis/RKs? I feel bad for ya, those are the two worst match-ups for a spider. But yeah, what Ichor said, thats what I run.

Freep raid last night, 7 or 8 minis, 2 or 3 rk's, a cappy, a hunter, probably some burgs and maybe others I didn't see. Almost makes me wanna try full morale with 2xtac mit.

    Re: Thoughts of ranked weavers

I go for an all moral and damage build.

For corruptions I use Damage for Power 2, 3 Masterys, and Health for Power 1 & 2. Note that (at least last time I checked) a Mastery corruption provides a greater bonus than Damage for Power 1 and doesn't sacrifice any power (not that you will really hurt for it).

Class Traits I use Enhanced Paralytic Venom, the 10% Morale Boost, Tainted Kiss and Piercing Attack damage, Steelweave webs, Enhanced Trapdoor Sanctuary, and Strong Brood (ranged pet still doesn't work 100% right; the melee pet is more reliable and tougher)

Racial Traits I use Born of Shadow, Shelob's Gift, Eight Legged Menace, Enemy of the First Children, and Ancient as the Stars.

The only thing this build really lacks is tactical resistance but not sure that there is much you can do against RK and Minstrel crits anyway. I'd rather have a good morale pool/maximum heals, and do as much damage as I can.

    Re: Thoughts of ranked weavers

Nice, I'll have to refer to this thread for trait advice myself.

I don't know if things have changed since I went on vaction 2 months ago, but in about another month I'll get off my 8 lazy legs and get back to debuffing those pesky freeps.

I know I have HfP2 and DfP2 in my corruption slots, always. Power management doesn't seem to be much problem, so I have been able to afford the tradeoffs in favor of health and damage, which is nice.

I had been playing around with crit def x1 and phys mit x3 in the past (or some other variation of the 2), before the introduction of Audacity. I gave up on stacking tact mit when I realized I'd get nuked/fried/blasted by ridiculous minstrel/rk dps anyway. I supposed that reinforcing mitigations from straight melee and ranged attacks would help, since freep heavies liked to charge in on me quite often.

I think I'll have to play around some more with corruptions following advice here. As for the build I had used pre-Audacity, it helped me beat a guard 1v1 that had the jump on me in isendeep, and allowed me to successfully use guerilla tactics on a hunter at grothum. Then of course, root/daze a tact freep class then run my spider butt out of there like any reasonable weaver would do... yikes!

Oh Nimrodel, never change for anyone. Also HfP/D 2 and the rest in mastery.

health for damage 1 and 2/health for power 1 and 2/damage for power 2/mastery

Your damage is DoT - Scales extremely badly through 5s and 10%s and living long enough to be able to keep 4 DoTs up constantly is much more effective IMO.
