With all the Guides (travel abilities) that the Hunter has been gaining, running out of slots has become a real problem.
I think a UI addition for travel (that could be used by all classes really) that integrates Milestones, Guides, etc all into one place (like a drop down menu icon or something) would be a great addition to the game. Perhaps it could also be used to help advertise the milestone and maps items one can purchase in the store (as a marketing excuse to prioritize the idea to development).
Hmmmmm, you could probably do something similar for mounts, so if you want to choose a another mount to show off, you don't need to go digging back into that long list of skills in the character panels. Again, a quick link to buying more mounts in the store could be placed here too.
All you ask for can be accomplished with plugins already, not sure there's much point in turbine spending time doing whats already been done.
Any specific one you could suggest? I've had a lot of bad luck in other MMOs with plugins not working or making the game unstable so I've stayed away from them in this game. But if there are some that work, I'd be interested.

This one is pretty much nails it. Its had continuous support since LUA was integrated into the game and has really only needed updating as new reputation travels have been introduced. If the API is opened up to include access to character skills, its unlikely that the plugin would need continued support past that point.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.
You can also do it with in-game tools, as I have - on ALL my toons, not just hunter and warden.
I use a vertical quickslot bar on the extreme right of the screen (on the right of the quest guide) so it doesn't get clicked on by accident. The 10 or so slots it provides are plenty for the key travel skills. For me these are:
- House
- Kinhouse
- Milestone (Ox-clan)
- Campfire (Bree Horsefields/Nar's Peak depending on whether new kinnies need to complete Draig pre-quests)
- Stangard
- Galtrev
- 21st Hall
- Llanuch rep port
- Ost Galadh rep port
- Bree
When you hit level cap, you'll realize you only port to about a total of four places at all. Rest of your quickslots will all be devoted to combat skills and buffs/items. No real need for any changes to be made just for ports. Hit K to open skill menu and you've got them all right there.
If you find yourself running out of room though, there are three additional quickslot rows (4-6) you can activate in your Quickslot settings under Options to place somewhere convenient on your screen.
Just use tonicbars. You can make as many quickslot bars as you want, completely customize them, get them to only pop up when you press a particular button, or always, or just in combat, or whatever you want.
I use one for mounts, one for pots, one for muster (Warden), another for various emotes (by using the /shortcut switch). Sky's the limit.
It has only ever not worked at one time when they released RoI. Turbine messed up the LUA script and whenever you would click something that pulled an item from your bag it would crash the game. But they fixed it after a few weeks and has been great since, and before that.
Curiously, the evolution of the internet seems inversely proportional to the evolution of man.
At level 75 Hunter, I use virtually all of my travel icons. Sometimes many in the same playing session. So I need all of the showing at the same time. That means with all quick slot bars (not using plugins) are now totally filled up (one spot open if we ignore the horse trait I just got).
My suggestions for why it should be done by turbine (without plugins) is for marketing reasons and perhaps finding a way to get others to purchase more things from the store. That was also the same reason for suggesting the mount choices too.
And of course, it would make organizing my quick slot bars much easier if all those transport icons were removed to their own special UI area.
