"Your store session has timed out"

Hi, I've been unable to use the store for the last two days, it just says "Your store session has timed out. Please use the home button to reload the store." Clicking said button does absolutely nothing. I know it should be working as my husband is sat next to me and his store is working fine! (Same server).

    Any suggestions?

Edit - I've just checked, and I can access it fine from all other characters, it's just my main, Xandarien that's having the issue

This seems to be something that the Tech team will be more suited to help you with. So I'm moving it to that section of the forums.

I'd also recommend you submit a Tech Support ticket here.

Exclamation Re: "Your store session has timed out"

Has there been a solution for this problem yet? I'm having the same problem account wide, can't access the lotro store from any of my characters, nor from the main character select window. Getting the exact same error message about the store session having timed out, and for me too, clicking home does nothing.

It happened to me too shortly after resubscribing as VIP, there may just be a connection there? Anyway, I've submitted a ticket to the customer support and reinstalling the LOTRO client through steam as we speak to try and fix it somehow.

Perhaps it's an issue on PlaySpan's side? They're the third-party company running the ingame lotro store.

On second thought, scratch that. If it's an issue on their side, you'd expect more then a select few players to have issues.

Re: "Your store session has timed out"

Problem fixed for me. In steam I selected lotro -> delete local content. Then re-downloaded the entire 15GB game client. Store is working fine again for me. For now...

If you want to try this approach in an attempt to fix it, I would definitely recommend downloading through the Steam service rather then with Turbine's downloader. Steam gave me ~1.7MB/s for the entire download. When I tried Turbine's it wouldn't get above 300kb/s for the first 30 minutes at least, stopped after that.

No need to reinstall. The issue has been resolved. You may need to clear your DNS cache, however.

Also, if you modified your host file to work around the issue, please change it back as it wil cause your store to break again.

Re: "Your store session has timed out"

At the windows command prompt type ipconfig /flushdns

That may or may not work depending on your isp. If it doesn't work then wait 24 hours or less. Most isp's automatically flush about every 24 hours.

Tried that twice, the store is still not working today. Any other ideas? :/

Edit - We have two different ISPs in our house, works on neither.

Well it's been 5 days, and it's still not working, so I'm guessing my ISP should have done its thing by now and flushed the DNS its end, so I seem to have another issue... (It's still 'Your store session has timed out' btw).

Any timeline on when it's likely to be fixed?

I ran into this problem tonight, after I re-activated my VPN.

Apparently the store doesn't like it when I use my VPN... which seems kind of fishy. The game accepted my login credentials and let me login fine, why doesn't the store? Is this "third party" provider trying to inspect my packets and being snarky when it can't by not letting me use the store?
