Thread: The Moors!!! struggling really to get anywhere!

Okay guys been away from the moors for 5 months or so. Playing swtor say no more as thats all that games worth at the mo to me. So i thought i come back being a lifetimer and have a go with old faithful lotro again to find wow a good few changes. Okay i had loads of glimming stones etc found in forums they were made into a wallet item into commendations from what i read. I had hunderds of these all types and when looking at my comm's i saw 1400 thought nice okay what can i get with these.......LOL nothing its rubbish not even half way to getting the lowest armor piece. Also ive played around a week in the moors now since relogging and im finding it dam impossible to down even a warg of the same level as me in 1v1. So whats been going on thats made this pvp so dam difficult to get anywhere or achieve anything. I myslef am in the Snowbourne server we got high ranking monster players that can kill me R7 Burg in 5 six hits of 7200hp. None of my burg abilities work on majority of monster players and im finding im having to go after low R1 R2 R3 and just leave the rest as im just meat to them. Before you say I am a very accomplished burg i know my stuff and i can carry my own weigth in a fight. Before i left lotro for some time i was 1v1ing ranks high than me R9 etc and winning, and now there is no way i can even concider that now with this new pvp audicy armor. All i can do at the moment is quest to get comm's but since playing this week ive earn't prob just over 1000 comm's.

Seems like there is never a raid on the freep side ever running and keeps are all held majority of the time by monster players? Something really needs to be done as the pvp fun of the moors has sadly died for me and any lower ranked players in the same position as me. Why the hell the armor isnt in a rank system like before also just purchable with coin or comms depending which allows all of us players to get into the fight and have fun. I got to now i total play over 2-3 months to get this set by doing the same thing over and over till i can least tackle higher ranks! And by then the expansion will be out and the armor i probably spent that time grinding will be usless. So looks to me turbine has yet again played a fumble and ill prob not be doing anything now till the expansion. Such a..........shame.

I have no idea what you're talking about or what game you're playing... Maybe you just need to play your class a bit, you might be a bit rusty. Oh, but yeah I agree, Moors is epic ####, but in the freep's favor.

Lol I was being serious, you might be a bit rusty after having not played for a while. And I assume that your burglar is level 75 with all his items, traits, and the like? Also, wargs are more powerful than they were 5 months ago, just so ya know. And I agree, and so does every other person who's ever played creepside that commendations suck terribly. A bit of friendly advice, if you're looking for PvP, go to GW2.

Its not as bad as it seems on Freep side. Creep side is a mess on the other hand..... Once you start getting Audacity, you will start competing with the Creeps with r7 Audacity. If you really dedicate yourself, you can average maybe 1 piece of PvP armour a week.
Pvp on this game has been falling apart. Wargs have been made the most powerful creep class, so of course everybody is rolling one. Can't really walk through TA, WB, or SB without getting ganked. If you stray too far from the rest of the Freeps, you will get pounced by 2+ wargs. You also can't compete without r4 or more audacity, and since you can't compete, its pretty hard for a new freep or creep to get commendations for the audacity.

You seem to be, like him, playing a different game? Creeps are in a much worse place than freeps, and complaining about how every warg is impossible to kill, is once again, stupid. Wargs are just the only balanced class on freeps, and as someone who is used to being godmode, may seem hard to kill :/

Seems like you might be a bit rusty due to your break, but the major things you need to do are learn how creep classes have changed and ask other people of your class how they deal with them. Also, as has been said, audacity is definitely required, but will be hard to get (unless you pve the **** out of the moors) since the system is horrendous.

Shadow wargs will probably be your toughest opponents since all your b/p/e is useless, but that doesn't mean that they're unbeatable. You just need to figure out how best to fight them.

Sounds like you need to learn how to play. Considering you're one of the most easymode faceroll classes the problem is you. Although if you don't want to play in the Moors that's fine too. I'm sure no-one will shed a tear that there's one less OP freep out there.

lol, tbh, burgs are far down the list of "easymode faceroll classes" in the moors XD. They fall behind minis/champs/rks.

If you don't have any Audacity ranks, I wouldn't bother trying. You're not going to get any help out of the Moors playerbase, and all the higher-Audacity opposition is just going to rip you to shreds while you're trying to get what's necessary to be competitive.

Cant wait till us mini's get our buffs in ROR... Finally Turbine sees the light in letting some balance finally come to the moors.

just join freep groups. pretty much the way to go until you get enough commendations to get to ~4-5 audacity. quite honestly you have it 10x better than noob creeps though who are forced to spend real money to amount to much.

or you can pve your way there, because what cool people do in the moors

I dont play my Burg at level 75 yet, but I have got my Hunter up to 75 and fully geared with Audacity armour, and my 75 Champ is on his way.

A few things have changed with the Burg Class and all Freep classes both on and off the moors so checkout the official threads for the updates you missed.

Also check out the news on Audacity.

Audacity means that if you have been away for a while, you will be fighting opponents who will have an innate advantage in terms of mitigations, CC duration and power consumption against you, so any higher ranking creeps who have regularly PvPed since it was introduced will have pretty much full audacity now, wheras you will be rank 1.

The actual bonus it gives at rank 7 are:

-50% CC duration, -30% incoming tactical, ranged and melee damage, -20% power cost.

Compare this to rank 1:

-25% CC duration, -10% incoming tactical, ranged and melee damage, -10% power cost.

As you can see its quite a difference!

In 1 v 1s you will need 4-5 audacity to compete against high ranked creeps who know their class, although this is more important for Creeps as we Freeps can still be quite nasty if we stack our primary stat and go for a max DPS PvE raid build, at least in a group, though your survivability will be poor.

On the subject of Gear, Do you have the Limlight Gorge gear yet? With this stuff and other decent Jewellery you should be able to hit the moors with 7 Audacity and over 2000 Agility no problem.

I cant remember when it was, but if you havent played much since RoI - 9 months ago? This has made a huge difference.

If you have your Agi over 2 k and 7 audacity, decent physical mastery and slot Fidelity and Tolerance, which are both now Tactical mitigation, and Zeal which is now also a Morale buff along with some physical mitigation (used to be a rubbish virtue) all at rank 14 the new max rank you will find your self dishing out nasty DPS - Burgs sometimes are able to do more than Hunters now with good gear and LIs - you will also have much more survivability built in.

If this helps, cool, you should be ok after a bit of grinding and shaking off the PvP rust.

If not, check your gear, LI's and traits with some experienced burgs who are up to date on the class in PvP terms.

It was significantly easier to get Audacity and Comms when the system just came out....b/c everyone wasn't running around with Audacity. PvP is one big catch-22.

I don't have full audacity on all my characters and i don't find it a huge problem to gain comms and buy my audacity currently.

And its only going to get harder for new PvPers to get their armour. Turbine is going to release a new "Season" which, correct me if Im wrong, is going to increase the maximum audacity rank. Thats only going to make it more impossible for new players to be effective in the Moors, which is going to make it harder to earn commendations.

So basically, If you didn't earn your Audacity ranks early, its going to be a huge grind.

Be a r4 or lower Creep just starting out. The current experience is nothing short of hellish.

I'm waiting for the established PvPers to delete characters and see just how "easy" it is to rank up and obtain skills.
