    How much money?

I am wondering how much money will it cost me to get everything that VIP offers me without buying the subscription in cash. How much money will I need to spend on TP? I tried doing it myself but the cart only let's me put 15 items. So assuming i have 0 TP how much money will it cost me to get everything VIP get's you?

Well the flaw in your idea is

No matter how much TP you spend you wont get the content of a VIP unless you Subscribe

    VIP's can:
    1: Spend the Destiny Points
    2: EARN/Spend Commendations as Freep
3: Enter the Ettenmoors as a Freep
4: Get PAID 500 TP per Month of their ACTIVE Subscription

In order to get the same content as VIP you have to PAY

    Re: How much money?

Fourth Bag (account wide): 495 TP
Fifth Bag (account wide): 495 TP
Currency Cap (account wide): 395 TP
    3 additional Character Slots (account wide): 3 * 595 TP = 1785 TP
North Downs QP (account wide): 595 TP
Evendim QP (account wide): 595 TP
Trollshaws QP (account wide): 595 TP
Misty Mountains QP (account wide): 695 TP
Angmar QP (account wide): 795 TP
Forochel QP (account wide): 595 TP
Eregion QP (account wide): 695 TP
Lothlorien QP (account wide): 695 TP
Enedwaith QP (account wide): 695 TP
Great River QP (account wide): 795 TP
    All 8 skirmishes (account wide): 8 * 395 TP = 3160 TP
Inn of the Forsaken instance (account wide): 395 TP
Halls of Night instance (account wide): 395 TP
Access to all crafting guilds (account wide): 7 * 295 TP = 2065 TP
    20 Wardrobe slots (account wide): 2 * 495 TP = 990 TP
    Monster classes (account wide): 5 * 795 TP = 3975 TP
    30 Auction House slots: 2 * 95 TP + 2 * 195 TP + 2 * 295 TP = 1170 TP

    Virtues unlock (per character): 3 * 95 TP = 285 TP
    Racial traits unlock (per character): 3 * 95 TP = 285 TP
    Class traits unlock (per character): 5 * 95 TP = 475 TP
    Legendary traits unlock (per character): 2 * 195 TP = 390 TP
Riding Skill (per character): 95 TP

And the Monster characters will need to get their traits unlocked as well, per character.

You'll however be unable to use swift travel permanently (temporary unlock can be bougth in the Store) and to trade and mail gold. You will also be unable to contact a GM via in-game support tickets, nor will you get rest XP (which is not really necessary).

    Account wide unlocks: 22070 TP
    Per character unlocks: 1530 TP

And, with all this you still don't have access to Moria, Mirkwood nor Isengard. Those must be purchased separatly, even if you are VIP.

Edit: If you go VIP for a month all per character things would not need to be bought (on the toons you log into while VIP), except maybe the riding skill. At level 20 all VIPs can to a quest for the riding skill, but you have to be VIP to do it. Nor would you need to buy the fourth and fifth bag, currency cap unlock, more than 2 character slots or more than 25 Auction House slots.

This would bring the total down to 19995 TP. However, it might be cheaper to buy RoI Legendary for $50. Then you get a couple of the quest packs, 1000 TP and all three expansions (Isengard, Moria and Mirkwood). This will make it possible for you to get to level 75 without buying anything more.

It might also be worth mentioning that the first 3 (bags & gold cap) as well as most per-character unlocks mentioned (traits etc.) can also be gotten from just getting 1 month of VIP. Any character that was active during VIP will get these unlocked permanently.

1.) Just buy RoI legendary 50$ (you got many questpacks)
    http://isengard.lotro.com/purchase.php#
2.) One month VIP 15$ (bags, swift travel etc.)

and you got solid amount content to play, you can buy other things (questpacks) later with TP (in discounts).

The only thing you might miss is PvP. All the other stuff is not to expensive to buy. I do so, but I paid my bills in €.

Vip is better for casual players. If you want / need more you should get your self a creditcard ;-P

Other than that, it's a good list for future reference.

Don't forget to get these on sale and you can save a ton! Requires a bit of patience to do that.

This is true for VIP. Everyone has to purchase expansions if they want to play them.

So basically is cheaper to get 1 month vip to get all gold caps, bags, traits and stuff for one character than to buy it separately with turbine points?

Yup, and do it when your toons are at 20 or above so you can get the riding skill for free.

Yes. Then all per character TP would not need to be bought (on the toons you log into while VIP), except maybe the riding skill. What JA said.

At level 20+ you can grab the Riding skill (by doing a VIP-only quest at Henstager(sp?) Farms, north of Bree. (Altho' for only 95 TP, buying it early is a strong temptation - SO handy!)

You'll also get 500 TP during that month of VIP, and can easily buy a quest pack with that (maybe two, if you have more saved up).

If you wait until level 35 or so (about the highest you can easily get as pure FTP), then you can use the 30 days of VIP free-access to level up higher and aim for something like Moria to buy. (Otherwise, you're still leveling up via Free Content while VIP.)

Not a bad idea to allow your money to overflow past the 2 GP mark - it gets saved in a special ''overflow'' account that you'll be able to access once you're VIP/Premium. (I assumed it'd be lost - it's not!) Esp handy if you're going to buy (or upgrade) a house down the line.

Also, if you Craft, you want to have already reached the limit with your Guild, and then banked enough Guild-Rep items to jump a couple tiers in that as well.

(I'm FTP, but going to wait until 35 to do my month of VIP. Meanwhile, with I've bought Riding for one of my 2 characters - might be worth it, but the other is a Hunter and so is not the slowest. I also bought access to the AH (which I enjoy working), and a Shared Inventory (an arguable buy, but it works with my playstyle - not for everyone, clearly). I then just bought Evendim on sale the other week (30% off). Moria will be next for me.)

(For expanded storage, I made a second account and have sent cheap items, mostly cosmetics, to that to hold. Once VIP and have more room, I'll send them back. Maybe 100 sp in postage fees was well worth it for me, but admittedly another "ymmv" sort of thing.)

Lastly, don't forget that everyone gets a one-time 5% discount to one purchase w/ TP (details can be found under the explanation of the Store/coupons via the in-game Store link). If you buy one big chunk of items, that can be a nice little additional savings.

And it's not uncommon for Players to go VIP more than once - 30 days now, then level up the toons and buy some packs, then another 30 days later on at some point (with another 500 TP received). Just to mention that as a possible option.

And fill up empty character slots with characters even if you're not going to play them right away. Maybe do this on a couple extra servers too. So much stuff gets unlocked for them that way that when you do decide you want some alts you are set; if you don't want the alts then that's a lot of extra storage and crafters for you.

    Re: How much money?

I have a couple of questions please

    1. Does anything from the VIP subscription 'Re-Lock' after the subscription ends? Eg, do I keep quest packs and inventory slots permanently?

    2. Would it be a waste of TP to buy an inventory bag before buying a subscription? I ask because on the tool bar, it looks like there is a 6th and 7th bag slot.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Re: How much money?

1: Vip's 'lease' quest packs / expansions, they are never fully yours. Everything else is bought permanently when you subscribe: bags, trait slots, etc.
2: Vip's get 5 inventory bags. There's talk of a 6th bag everyone has to buy, but I don't know anything about it. If you buy an inventory bag before and later decide to go VIP, you'll lose those TP and won't get a 6th bag. I did this myself...

If you are F2P/Premium and buy the RoR Legendary edition you'll unlock 4th, 5th and the new 6th bag on all characters.

All that, are not concidered as content, its just boosts and extras, thus they are not necessary to have at all, really

And to answer the OP's question

Depends. You can earn as much as you want Turbine Points though the game by deeds, that and if you manage to get quest-packs and expansions when they are on sale then you will not spend much
