    Lego The Lord of the Rings -- with links, pics and reviews

    As you may or may not know, Lego has just released it's new theme: The Lord of the Rings!

    As the pre-sales of the LOTRO Riders of Rohan expansion have just begun, I think there's no better time to share a few links -- especially because there's this magnificent Battle of Helm's Deep Lego set...

    Here are the links for reviews of the Lord of the Ring sets released by Lego so far (all links take you to Eurobricks, one of the largest online Lego communities).

    * Battle of Helm's Deep -- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/inde...pic=69823&st=0

    * Attack on Weathertop -- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/inde...pic=70352&st=0

    * The Mines of Moria -- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/inde...pic=69853&st=0

    * Uruk-Hai Army -- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/inde...pic=69777&st=0

    * Shelob Attacks -- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/inde...howtopic=69565

    * Gandalf Arrives -- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/inde...howtopic=69551

    * And here's a link to a video review of the final set, The Orc Forge -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy7Ti2WMDuA (this one is not an Eurobricks review, but a BrickShow one)

    Hope you enjoy the reviews and the Lego sets!

    Really awesome of course, many AFOL awaited the arrival of LOTR to LEGO, but seeing how incredibly expensive these sets are in comparison to what they offer... tough choice for everyone whether to purchase them.

    These things look a bit rubbish and have barely any detail.. For the prices I'd expect something better quality and with more detail tbh :P

    DO WANT but haven't found a UK stockist or release date yet. My son will be old enough for proper Lego thi Christmas and I want to include a couple of sets, or at least some hobbits and Gandalf.

    Ever since I played LEGO Star Wars on my XBox, I have been waiting for a LEGo LotR game. I still love the way the bad guy go to pieces. LOL

    Oh wow. I wish these would have been available 25+ years ago I saved all my Lego City (or whatever they were called then) blocks and road tiles in a huge box so I can give them to my kid in future, but I guess any kid would just laugh at those simple lego blocks compared to what they have nowadays...

    There is no such thing as being too old for LEGO! I don't generally buy the LEGO sets, although I liked the concepts of several of the more recent ones, but this one may be an exception for me, mostly because I have everything else with the Tolkien name, if I didn't get these my collection would forever be incomplete.

    I only have one reservation about the video game, and that's including the voice acting from the films. Not because it isn't good, but because there's something charming about the little pantomimes that the figures do in the games where they can't talk. Either way, I know that game is coming home with me the day it comes out too.

    Completely agree and +1 to that sentiment. If any of you adults are on the fence, I purchased all of these LOTR Lego sets and have really enjoyed building and displaying them. I like the Games Workshop wargame rules for Lord of the Rings, so I'll try to find a way to apply those to the these new lego miniatures. The battles won't be massive with just the Lego minis, but that GW rule system allows for fun, fast-paced small skirmishes.

    I wish I could get this Lego version of Elrond (http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2012...s-with-elrond/) for WB Lego video game pre-order, but I think it's only available to German pre-orders of the collector's edition.

    However, we'll all have access to this incredible Lego model of Bag End (http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2012...ring-lego-set/) sometime this December to coincide with the Hobbit movie release.
