So were getting... no instances but we will probably keep the damn lag thats permeated through the game ever since they released the great river area. Mounted combat and repeatable quests to take the place of real endgame content until "a later update".. 10 levels to obsolete the raid gear we have already gotten to do the current end game content. Hunters desperate flight may include the whole fellowship? With things like their horrid lack of aggro management this is what you focus on? RoI was an epic letdown but damn! You managed to top it!! Congrats on either the best joke in LOTRO history or the worst sounding xpac ever..
P.S. Rowan's damage control interview didnt do a whole lot to make me feel any better. You really pissed off most people this time. Maybe the casual guys who take two months to level 10 levels will enjoy the new content.
People who are still wondering/hoping that the Instance Cluster will be included in the expansion, now seem to have their question answered?
Aaron Campbell: "We have a new instance cluster planned for later this year as part of our regular LOTRO content updates."
It doesn't get any clearer than that. It will not be part of the expansion. So probably a free content update for VIP and a separate paid cluster for F2P.

Yeah, they've more or less made it clear before that too. The problem is that at one point the Turbine Customer Service FAQ page for the game said it was included, then we found out it wasn't.

Except that it's not that clear. With RoI, the instance cluster wasn't given free to VIPs and at a price for non-VIPs - it was given "free" to those who paid cash for the expansion, and at a price for those who paid TPs for RoI.
Again, we have no clear information, but I don't expect this go-round to be any different: account status matters not - your willingness to shell out cash instead of banked TPs does.

It would be more than welcome to at least *tell* us what the RoR instance cluster includes ... But it looks like even that is too much to ask for.
Do we really have to beg for every tiny scrap of information, while other mmorps announce their expansions with a detailed list, what's going to be new?
Seriously this expansion is getting more ridiculous every minute since the preorder went live.
Why is it so hard to announce a such anticipated expansion pack in time with details and information so that everyone can be happy and the forums less ''hot''?
Wish RoR was like MoM in terms of content. This game has lost it's touch. And I know who to blame.

You could buy the Questpack and Draigoch early, but the "Expansion" only appeared in the LotrO Store after the instances were released.
The new statements on RoR that we have clearly say that the instances are considered separate from RoR. Purchase or prepurchase of any version of RoRwill in no way entitle you to free access to these instances. The question only is if they will be free for VIP then. I´ll hazard a guess and say that based on previous experience, they will be free (or rather at no added cost) for VIPs. We´ll see. Endgame content of RoR is supposed to be something entirely different - something involving Black Beauty, Flipper and Bob the Builder (horses, fishing, "construction quests")
Its just funny that other expansions which are supposed to launch in Q4/2012 or even some time in 2013 are publicised better than this thing that is supposed to come out in less than 3 months and already on sale.

Unless I missed something yesterday, Sapience said that if you purchase an 'expansion' pack you will get the instances at no additional charge once they go live.

I've not seen a quote to that effect, personally. The second quote below states it's not part of ROR and is a later update.

Once the expansion pack has launched we will introduce a new instance cluster based in the Rohan region as part of our regular update schedule. Expect to hear more about the new content and systems of Rohan as we move through the summer.

Fun fact: Turbine spends so much time talking to the press they might miss that they're loosing customers by the minute... true story
True Story: They don't care about the current customers. They need new customers that will need to level and buy items in the turblind store. They will only get those customers by hyping the press so the press can advertise the game's cool new features to the newbies.
Now that definitely is a different story. I find it hard to believe that an 'expansion' does not include any instances, whether they are ready for launch or if they'll come later. If that really is the case, then they really shouldn't be changing their term definitions. Expansion has always equaled all but pre-order reward content.

So it's clear now isn't it? Instead of an instance cluster we get mounted combat and repeatables? Wow. That is not an expansion, not even close. More like an Update.
And when the instance cluster will be released people will have to pay for it no matter if they preorder or not? Since it's obvious now that the cluster will be part of a future update and not RoR. So ViP players get it. The rest will have to buy.
Glad things start to get clear now. Now I can be dissapointed without any doubt.
I just remembered why I don't bother with these forums. I came today to check out the new Steam angle, which I am excited about, and stayed to browse - won't happen again!
