LoN currently has all of Orthanc t1 (including Saruman) on farm. We are currently doing some alt runs and runs for new members to get gear unlocked, for seals, etc, and generally have a few spots in runs available. For those interested in helping us out on some runs and getting some gear unlocked, here's some info:
Run schedules (times are approximate/subject to change/various disclaimers)
Monday 6pm EST/5pmCST/3pm PST - alt run - all 4 wings up to Saruman (Fire/Frost, Acid, Lightning then Shadow - order of wings may vary due to mood swings, fullness of the moon, etc)
Tuesday 6pm EST etc - Whatever wings we haven't done on T2 up to Saruman
Wed night 6pm EST - Sarumans - first run is a kin run and generally have few open spots, if any. The second run will follow the first, which is our alt run. That run we normally do have a few spots available. It will generally start sometime after 7-730 EST but may get delayed due to real life stuff, me screaming I want food, etc.
What we are looking for;
- Ventrillo installed, ready to go, and the ability to both understand and act upon English instructions. I barely handle English on a good day. Please don't make us try to handle any other languages.
- Knowledge of your class and some flexibility. For example, if you're a mini, know what anthem of composure is, and don't be upset if I ask you to equip lyrics of bravery for Saruman. If there are specific ways we want you to trait, we'll let you know.
- Gear/Virtues etc - This is T1 Orthanc so we're not expecting full orthanc gear, perfection on traits, etc. However, we do want people who have put some care into their toon. Draig gear/good pvp gear, guilded crafted gear at minimum - if you're wearing all green or below level armor, you're going to go smush. I do not want you to go smush. Same with virtues - they don't have to be perfect but they SHOULD be decent. We especially look at tolerance and fidelity for Saruman for the tactical mitigation.
- A good attitude - this is a game, and we're here to have fun. On an alt run, there may a few wipes. It may take a few minutes to organize. Sit back, relax, enjoy the ride.
- Be a team player and be prepared - Have regen food, trail food of your choice, resist food (oxtail soup is your friend in orthanc), tokens, scrolls, and pots. At least 20 dunland level disease pots are needed for the wings, at least 25 of ALL pots (poison, wound, fear, disease) are needed for Saruman.
- If you EVER miss pots - please install buffbars - http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info361-.html - just trust me
- Have photos of a cute puppy. I like puppies. (Not really, just seeing if you were still paying attention.)
- Have your graphics set to low/very low to help with lag issues.
What you can expect from us:
- Clear instructions on the runs. Gil is a great teacher.
- A non elitist attitude. We understand that mistakes happen. We're not expecting perfection. We do expect that people will learn, but we're not here to beat anyone in the head with a sledgehammer. We're fun
- A fair crack at loot. EVERYONE gets to roll on items (we may ask that if you have won one item that you pass on the next items, etc) - but we do not hold back any loot for kin.
- A bit of craziness. We do joke around a lot - BUT when it's time for instructions and pulls, and time for clear vent, we do get serious. It works well.
This thread is for information only. We are not accepting advance sign ups, please don't ask me to come and find you, your mother, or your grandfather's neighbor's dog before the run. If you are interested, be around during those times, have glff on, and please be off anon as we will probably want to inspect you. We're creepy like that.

When we do the fresh, alt runs we aim to start with NO locks. So, if you have completed an Orthanc wing, or have gone on a run with other people who have completed any orthanc wings, you will have some raid locks. You can check your locks in game by typing /raid locks
When we do our cleanup run - whatever is leftover from T2 - and when we do Saruman - we will have locks that you will pick up. If this is an issue, talk about it with us before joining.
Just curious, are there going to be gear requirements? I would love to take my burg if i dont lag like last time, but he is extreamly under geared.

Gear requirements aren't set in stone but we have to be realistic about survivability/being an asset not a liability, etc. If you can't bunny hop, no amount of gear is going to save you, but if healers have to spend more time keeping you alive then focusing on the tank, it's a problem, know what I mean?
Track down Gil or myself in game (preferably him as he makes the final call) and we can talk more specifically about it.
i ran orthanc with you guys on my burg once and champ twice my burgs dps wont be enough to draw agro with his gear i just hope i don't lag like last time it was terrible i couldn't even make it back to get asid gear unlock on my burg
hehehe. im trying to fix the lag for my burg in orthanc i turned down all my graphics setings but im still having problems any suggestions other than names off and stuff like that
graphics on very low
cosmetics turned off
in advanced graphics, turn player crowd quality (or whatever it's called) down to zero
make sure post processing is off
turn off cosmetics
3d portraits off
If one of your characters lags an the other doesn't there has to be a setting change somewhere. Maybe screenshot the settings on the two characters and compare?
