    End game virtues

    Hey guys,

What are the standard end-game virtue sets that you are using? Assume a predominately DPS role with minor off-tanking duty.

    Obvious (?) ones are:
    Zeal
    Innocence
    Compassion

What do you fill in the other two slots with?

    Thanks!

All depends on what you are doing

Draigoch = 100% common physical dmg so load up on physical mits

Saruman = 100% tactical dmg so load up on tactical mits

Roots of Fangorn = high Resistance for all the non pottable diseases is very handy

Most OT trash is physical but most bosses are tactical so you will need be swapping things around to get the most out of your toon.

Assuming I am not interested in grinding more than 5 virtues to lvl 14, which 5 would be the best all-around for a casual raider/instance runner?

Look at post above it explains what and when good + normal questing mostly physical.
And high might is good for your physical resistances, vitality for tactical.

Here is a good link of what you get from each virtue
    http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Virtues

    Tactical mit.
    • Tolerance (like it as it brings little agi to)
    • Fidelity (little bit extra vit also)

    Physical mit.
    • Zeal (free extra morale)
    • Discipline (extra might)

    Other
    • Valour (fore some morale and might)

Those 5 should be usable as a decent base setup for most occations.

    Re: End game virtues

    My normal build is:

    Discipline (Might)
    Zeal (morale)
    Valour (morale)
    Innocence (phys mit)
    Fidelity (tac mit)

For phys. mit intensive fights like Draigoch, I swap out Fidelity for Compassion. For tac mit intensive fights, I drop Innocence for Tolerance. I leave Discipline, Zeal and Valour slotted, always.

I use the same ones except I prefer Tolerance over Innocence for the extra Tactical mitigation as I am in Orthanc more than half the time I am logged on. I don't switch Virtues much since I am always destitute and can barely afford raid food/potions/tokens, but I honestly don't see the need to switch so much.

    Re: End game virtues

Well, I used to run Orthanc with both of the big tac mit virtues traited all of the time, but then I switched to the Great River DPS bow for my normal build so lost a ton of phys mit. I get it back with Innocence, and I like to have a decent amount of phys mit for the first three wings as I wind up tanking trash more often than not through sheer DPS. I swap back to the tac mit virtues for Shadow and onward.

I been using Discipline, Zeal, Valour, Innocence and Honour unless I do tower in which I switch Innocence for Fidelity

    Re: End game virtues

Even though my champ is my main I can't really be bothered to switch virtues around alot, so I went for 5 virtues that are usefull in basically any situation. I haven't done any endgame raids in a while (I stopped doing those 1 month ago and focussed fully on PvMP), but I did my share of Saruman and ToO T2's.

For Ettens, endgame raiding, T2 instances and pretty much everything else (1-2 exceptions maybe) I use:

    Discipline (Phys mastery)
    Zeal (Mitigations + morale)
    Innocence (Mitigations)
    Fidelity (Tactical mitigation)
    Valour (Morale)

Valour might be the one that's least usefull cause let's face it, 350 morale isn't even enough to absorb one gentle stroke of a boss. I kept it cause I want my raw morale to be at 8k. The main reason would be that it looks good I also kept it cause it was a b-to-the-itch to level. I levelled it when there were no slayer deed accelerators etc. Didn't want those efforts to go to waste.

It also allowed me to switch some jewels around to raise my physical mastery a bit more. But to be honest, if you don't need the morale I'd say lose valour, and go for a mitigation virtue like compassion or tolerance.

    Re: End game virtues

If it was pick 5 only, it would probably go:

    Innocence
    Zeal
    Fidelity
    Tolerance
    Honour

It's pretty easy to raise Charity and Compassion just by quest deeds and some easy instance deeds, though, and those can be situationally useful as well - Charity for resistance, Compassion for more physical mit, as the situation calls for it.

I've got Valour around 12 or 13, but I don't think I've slotted it since mid-30s, maybe? Things that kill you at end-game don't do it by hitting you for 300 or 350, and Zeal's got a nod to morale along with a bit of physical mit and armour value.

you realise that it costs 1s to change a virtue?

class traits are more expensive... and legendaries more so... but to swap from dps to tank build still only costs about 250s...
Nothing is impossible... it just costs more!

You don't realize how poor I am. I constantly I have to ask kin-mates to send me cash via mail, because I can't afford horse travel after repairing

you must be doing something wrong. surely you should have at least a few gold just from questing and vendor trash? do you loot dead mobs? sell the items or keep everything for tasks? or do you just die A LOT?
