    Tech question about windows 7

How do I set my windows 7 desktop so if I bring it back from "sleep" the password is needed to use it? The way it is now, all you have to do is click a key on the keyboard and the screen pops up, no password needed, I only need my password if I actually start my computer. I'd like to change it so the password is always needed, turned off or in sleep mode.

    Thanks!

Here is what a quick google suggested:

To request entering a password after hibernation, go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Power Options > Require a password on wakeup (in the left pane) and remove the check mark in Don’t require a password.

It appears win7 makes no difference between wake from 'sleep' and 'hibernate'

Also make sure that you have a password set for the User account that you are using.

You can change your User account password in the Control Panel > User Accounts.
