    Impoved Design Features in Houses

I've noticed over the years that the design features in the personnal and kinship houses are very limited. We basically have to place our furniture in the pre-established template thats already in place. I think people would be more pleased if that template could be costomized giving them more freedom.

Does anyone agree or am i a lone case?

Re: Impoved Design Features in Houses

There have been numerous suggestions to the revamp of housing in the past few years; the most popular being:
    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...Housing+Revamp

Similarly, in a very recent post, Turbine have confirmed their attention to be more focused on the release of new expansions, and that the polishing of old content (IE Hobbies and Housing) will be attended to later (See http://www.lotro.com/gameinfo/featur...aa-june-1-2012 )

In general, we (The consumers) do wish for an update to housing (and other content like kinships) but we will not be getting the upgrade anywhere in the near future.

Well, for "we, the consumers" read "some consumers, of whom you are one".

I have a house; I hardly ever go into it. The Galtrev (or other instance of) Vault is a lot more useful to me.

There are many many different features in this game, and for each of them, there are some players who consider that feature to be of primary importance. (For me, it's the Epic Books and anything else that relates to the Lore.) For some, it's PvMP. For others, it's raids.

Nobody except Turbine knows just how many ardent fans each feature has. But they know, and they expand, add to, update those features accordingly.

I'll admit, I'd like it if I could move things around a little more in my home, mostly centering my maps on the walls, since I have them hanging in both large and small wall spaces. However, I'm not overly worried about when Turbine gets around to this. Honestly, I'd like a couple more furniture slots before we get the ability to freely move things about, or another chest at least. I have six characters (at the moment) and even with two chests and all their bank space I'm still running out of room!

And yes, I take full responsibility for being a pack rat, but it's just easier on me to store extra materials for all that crafting rather than having to go out and find it every time I want to make something for the lower level alts.

You are most definitely NOT alone. See the link in my sig for verification.

And I say horse poop to that. Floon stated a long time ago that regardless of the player demand for fluff features such as housing, any fluff is considered low priority in the Turbine order of things. I know Floon is no longer working on LOTRO, but it is quite apparent that that philosophy remains intact.

I had detailed a long time ago an alternative to the slot system that is a step between the current system and hookless freestyle placement. See the link in my sig for the details.

Quite. And data-mining can only get you so far. I for one would like improved housing. But I almost never go to my house either - not because i don't want to, but because there's nothing to do there. All the hooks are already taken. I recall to my neighborhood only to buy more rations, and repair. I have two accounts; I don't even pay the rent on my second account's house.

In other games that have better housing, I use those features quite often. If LotRO had better housing, and neighborhood quests, etc, etc... people might actually use it.
