In case anyone missed it, here's answers to some of the PvP questions in the latest community Q&A.
Q6: Why don't creeps have a storyline ??? - Jason Andrew
A: It’s a difficult task to express the a meaningful story arc for a creature that is spawned from pure evil for the sole purpose of pillaging and maiming all that is good and pure. There’s only so many ways “Kill the Free People!” can be expressed. If you are asking why Creeps don’t have a traditional leveling experience, that’s because being a Creep is about PvP. We want you to be able to join the PvP battle the moment you enter the world. - Jared "Kelsan" Pruett
Q13: Why haven't you revamped PvMP? – Jenna Hughes
A: This is kind of a loaded question, but I’ll make an attempt. This really comes down to what you consider a ‘revamp’ and what timeframe you expect said ‘revamp’ to occur in. Revising an established system without potentially destroying what made it enjoyable to begin with is no simple undertaking and requires that we put careful consideration into each revision. Essentially taking baby steps towards our ultimate goal: create a fun PvP zone where players can engage in both small and large scale skirmishes of their choosing.
Over the last two years we’ve taken steps to strengthen the foundations of PvMP through Creep class rebalancing, introduction of new advancement rewards, and the addition of a PvMP Currency and Stat that allows us to create a ‘seasonal’ mechanic in the Ettenmoors.
More revisions are coming to further drive forward our goals. - Jared "Kelsan" Pruett
I would consider there to be some facepalm things said in these answers, however, it is important to note that they are planning on continuing revisions.
There's not likely a lot of people still curently faithful for the future of PvMP (I wouldn't expect it) but we have a developer (Perhaps a few) here who is at least trying to make some sort of revisions to improve it.
We asked for PvMP events with GM's, although many were disappointed with the way it was done, they still put an effort in to organise the events for us.
In this thread, I wanna try and keep it off of a discussion of sorts and as clean as possible.
If we have faith that the PvMP developers still look over the forums, perhaps we can help them in planning the future updates.
Here's what to do:
You are to answer three things.
1. What is one thing that makes PvP fun for you - Also name the one biggest reason why it is fun for you.
2. What is one thing that makes PvP not so fun for you - Also name the one biggest reason why this is not so fun for you (If you can keep away from anything that may be viewed as a put-down of sorts, do so.).
3. What is one thing you would like to see improved on, added, changed, or removed (Choose one of these things) which would you think would heighten your PvMP experience.
Feel free to quote an idea from someone else that you agree with.
You may make several posts, but try and let others weave posts in between your own.
I'll chuck mine in after some others post theirs.
Remember, please keep this thread away from discussion or dispute. If someone posts something you completely disagree with, let them be.

What makes lotros pvmp fun for me is my r12 warg. I log in auto-tuned without any regrind (or was before seasonal audacity) and get to play in an open world map. Just one large grind.

I've noticed while I'm playing that most fights are a face roll or be face rolled. However, there is always that hope for an exciting down to the wire fight whether 1v1, grp/grp, or raid/raid.

Give Freepside an option to create pvp only classes. This may solve the problem of balancing classes while maintaining populations. Minis don't need to be god mode if they can easily be played advancing through ranking. What about pve freeps then you ask? Give them class specific outfits for the moors. Something to distinguish themselves from a pvp only class. This is the first step IMO, the next step is to create pvp counterparts to freeps skills. This will separate pve skills into pvp skills.

I really enjoy the experience of being in a raid with a great leader as we battle across the map, winning some and losing some, taking keeps, defending them, trying to surprise the enemy and avoiding their traps. It is a real test of wits and strategy. It also shows how important teamwork is and how important the different class roles are.
I am less interested in soloing, but appreciate that some people like it and that there should be a space for it.

When some people get obsessed about raiding and it becomes win at all costs, rather than a sport to be enjoyed. Leaching and small fellowships that roam the map don't always help to make things better. Lack of people willing to lead and criticisms of those that do is a sad reflection of the current state of PVP.

Audacity did not make a big difference in my view, and was just a ploy to keep us busy for a while grinding commendations. Ideally, we need a new map or a complete reinvention of Ettenmoors. Fear of radical changes because it might break PvP just means we are locked in system that gets boring over time (and friends just fade away, never to return).
Perhaps we need something really radical to keep us busy like a lobby area (bit like instance finder) with a choice of missions (quests) and maps, where we all pile into, get thrown into groups, vote for the mission and then compete within a short time frame. 20 random creeps versus 20 random freeps in capture a keep, or capture a flag, or any of the other standard competitions you see with online games. Prior to any battle you can select your set up (have trait groups that you prefer and weapon patterns).
This could co-exist with the Ettenmoors as it is - so you get the best of all worlds.

For me, small group fights (3-6). Mostly what I love in this game, is that regardless of side, fights can still be won through coordination and cohesion. What I absolutely love is seeing like how small groups can win fights in outnumbered situations, against all odds, solely due to group coordination. For me if someone wins a 1v2 it's more due to playing a stronger class, or playing against inexperienced people. A 2v4 win on the other hand, can be won through strategy, and classes cohesion.

What bothers me the mostly is people behavior. People that don't care about having good fights and challenges, that care about numbers over everything, that will do anything to win. We all did something eventually that might have reflected negatively for the game, but the problem is not doing it, but is to insist in doing it. I believe if Turbine is struggling to make a balanced game, we can balance it ourselves.

Making a new area would be a good idea, but that's just to a cosmetic point of view. The main solution for me would be figuring out a way to make people move more around the map, the TR/WH/EC/SB/TA/WB/OC/LUGZREZ gets tiring.
Also, figuring out a way to make fights happen far from NPCS without making people lose their safespots. (That's one tricky to find out a solution)
Freep: Esegar
Creep: Alberigo, Tocu, Parasect, Flamenguista, Seroxat and Tylerdurdenn
1/ Any fight that isn't blatantly one sided. This is MUCH rarer in group situations so it usually comes down to 1v1s, which is sad, as group fights can be tremendously fun. Essentially any sustained and relatively close encounter is hugely enjoyable.
2/ Extreme farming. PvP obviously simply for the sake of some arbitrary points. This is usually shameless, one sided, and soul crushing for all involved.
3/ I'd like to see something new. A change of scenery would be most desirous but asking Turbine to actually keep to their word seems a little much. If we ever do get a new map it will likely be a completely failure of a thing like the Dev events were with zero effort or thought put into it.

1. The best thing is a balanced fight, wether solo, small group or in a raid.
2. The fact that new players have a disgustingly hard time. I'm sure we can all agree that this is one of the biggest problems in PvP, there are not enough new players who stay around, thanks to turbines money grab.
3. Balance over a new map any day of the week, but a new map is a close second.
Nice thread.

Micro-management and the champion class. They are the only two things that make it fun for me.#
The class is and always has been fairly challenging to be competitive with, recent expansion#Notwithstanding.

Numbers-domination PvP, and the Zerg mentality intrinsic to creepside in general. Which isn't to say many fights are Imbalanced and rightfully so, but having time and time again witnessed what happens when good players who know their class group up and accomplish I refuse to believe that it's as Imbalanced as some claim.

Some or ANYTHING extra for high ranks would be nice, I all but quit when they announced it's "impossible to reward higher ranks". What lazy copout that was, poor excuse. This can range from entirely aesthetic/cosmetic changes, idc really since Freepside isn't really in need of a physical buff in one way or another.

What if we just used the instances as our PVP maps. So you could have a game called Battle of the Prancing Pony. Creep raid starts at West Gate and Freep Raid starts at South. Both have to fight through NPCs to get to the Prancing Pony, where they battle over who controls the Inn. Could be fun and immediately you would have loads of new maps without investing loads of development money on a new Ettenmoors. At the same time, creeps get to fight outside of Ettenmoors in places like Bree, Thorins Hall, Rivendell and so on. Could be a cool game like Kill Elrond. Creep raid attacks the last Homely House and a group of freeps have to defend Elrond.
Anyway there would be loads of potential with this and it could be so much fun. Turbine just need to open their minds to the potential of the creep side.

"Rebalance" the classes back to about 1 year ago, ever since Kelsan arrived this game has gotten horrible.
