Man, it's been a long time since I was young enough to play with legos. $185 for that thing? Holy cow. I had some of the bigger sets, but I don't remember them being anywhere near that expensive.

LEGO is so expensive these days. Remember the huge castles you used to be able to buy and create? You don't really see things like that anymore.

On the topic of the link... look at the pictures on Amazon. Why does Legolas look so angry? lol.

lego is expensive =/ it's also one of the few things I still count as worth the expense. In the sense you get what you pay for... not that I buy the sets :P

I still have my castle set from youth but now my youngest son, who's a lego fiend, makes so many really cool sets, it's amazing what he can come up with.

This is a very cool site, for those interested:

    http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/17799

the way I understand it, essentially people put their ideas up, either made from actual bricks, or from the lego digital designer software (which is free btw) and try to obtain enough votes for a Lego rep to actually look at it and possibly make it part of their official line.

If you're referring to the Helm's Deep set, that's Haldir. Of course, given his positioning, aiming at a torch-carrying Uruk berserker heading for a bomb below the wall, it's easy to think of it as Legolas (I know I did, too). They probably replaced Legolas with Haldir in this set because they wanted Haldir somewhere, and had no Lórien sets...or because they want people to buy more sets to get the whole Fellowship Legolas appears in the Chamber of Mazarbul set instead.

As for the face, I think the head-pieces are actually double-faced, so that there's an additional face on the back of the head, covered up by the hair. I recall seeing a picture of the Shelob set, where you could change Frodo's facial expression simply by taking of the hairpiece, rotating his head, and putting the hairpiece back on. Maybe Haldir, among other characters, have a battle-face and a calm-face?

On another note, I love the Gimli figure, and find it humorous that the Ring is essentially a bracelet (hard to make a proper ring for Lego figures). Also, I think they're doing some sets to tie in with the Hobbit-movies, as well.

Looked at this and saw the future Lego crossover, the attack on weathertop featuring the Witch King of the Old Republic from Star Ring; The Third Age.
