Thread: Disappointed

The page to create my character is not displaying all the options so I am essentially stuck. Since I can't even CREATE a character there isn't much else to say.

Well you could ask what causes the problem .....

It is a fasirly well known Directx 11 bug that affects some graphics cards and computer set ups on some games especially lotro.

Yes Yes there is.....

Before the character creation screen select options change the graphic settings to DX9 that usually always fixes it
You can switch to DX11once you create the Character and log In

First: I actually HAD asked the person who asked me if I wanted to try the game.
Second: I DO NOT have DirectX 11... it would seem that 10 ALSO causes the issue, which neither the person who invited me to join the game NOR the 3 people he asked knew.

That would be why I posted on the forums...

Thank you for your input, which was not actually needed.
As a last ditch effort I'd restored the default settings and it 'fixed' the problem. (When I initially started the game it gave me a message about being able to run DirectX 10 and did I want to change the setting, not knowing it might cause an issue I said yes)

The character creation page is the only place where this problem appears.

In essence, its your graphical card, that has problems with some DX10/DX11 options. Switching to DX9, making character and switching back solves the issue.
