Returned to game, which server is best

Hey me and a friend just returned to the game and plan to start fresh and new from scratch, which is the best server to join this or snowbourn? we do like mild rp now and then and a more mature community but like all other mmos rp servers seem to be lower pop and die faster... how is the pop and community on this server and would it be best to come here or go to snowbourn? thanks.

Population on Laurelin seems pretty reasonable to me, the levelling areas tend to be quite sparse but that's pretty much always the case with mature (in age) MMORPGs, at least in my experience. That being said plenty of people level alts so it's not an entirely solitary journey to 75. At level cap things seem pretty active, with a pretty busy /globallff channel (which sometimes even stays on topic) and kinships and alliances of all shapes and sizes.

I have zero experience of Snowbourn but as there are no protections in place for names of characters or kin or use of /say, I think you'll find it a lot less immersive than you would Laurelin.

I started on Snowborne and then moved to Laurelin a decision i have never regretted. Snowborne i believe has a little higher population but Laurelin has a mature player base and it also has the added bonus of the RP aspect. There is plenty of end game goings on on both servers.

The main question is, what timezone do you play in? I assume an EU one based on the servers you mention - if that's the case, I can say that Laurelin does have pretty big population during EU hours. I have no experience with Snowbourne.

I have no experience of Snowbourne either, but I should say that so far I'm very pleased of Laurelin. Laurelin is originally EU server, and that causes higher populations in EU daytime. But from what I've seen as a night owl, Laurelin has also gotten some regular US players, so there is actually at least something small happening around the clock which is good.

Of course, the RP (roleplay) label is an attraction to the book loving people as well. The most active RP stage is probably Prancing Pony, but it can happen anywhere, and kinships can arrange RP events in different locations, too.

    Welcome back to LotRO

If its RP what you seek then def join Laurelin or at least, give it a try. The server pop is healthy and fine, especially at EU afternoon times and even on later times, it seems like the server grows, so there is always people around

I am not sure if you will find any RP on Snowbourn..

Re: Returned to game, which server is best

I'm due to return to the game this weekend, and have thought about a fresh start... I was in snowbourn .. it's a good server, it has a high population and is a EU server so there's plenty of UK/EU players.

I'm thinking of going to a RP server for a new start and hence this one seems to top the bill for UK/EU players as well.

    Thanks for starting this Tread
