Thread: I have a few questions regarding Socializing and grouping mechanincs

Hi i finally started LoR. Few questions i have.

1. How do you search for a player name? I kinda know the social panal, but can't figure out how to see if a certain player is online.

2. Using the Social panal, how do you see all the players in your current Region?

3. Can you have more than 1 Kinship?

4. When in a followship with someone, when you wanna cast spells on someone. Is there another way besides clicking on the persons picture?

You have to know the name to add player to your friends. Once he is in your friends list, his status will show, if he is online, or if not, when was last time he was online.

Easiest is to just right click on player char, or on his name in chat window, and bring up menu, choose 'add to friends' and its done. Or you can type the name in "add friends", but there are no checks. If you mistype and add wrong person...

I believe its the first screen you have on social panel.

One character at a time can belong to only one Kinship. To join other kin, you need leave the current one. But your other characters can be either in same, or in totally different kin.

You can select the names from fellowship list, or you can click directly. Also F1 to F6 keys select first to sixt player in your fellowship.

There is also a nice trick called "spell target forwarding" in combat options. Basically, if enabled, it allows you to select mob, and when you cast heal, it heals mob's target, not the mob. Likewise, you can select your fellow player, and with this spell target forwarding, you cast damage spell and it gets applied to the other players target.

To check if someone is online without adding them to your friends list, you can also type /who JohnSmith. If you're already in the social panel, it's the same as going to the Who tab in the Fellowing section, and typing the character's name into the Filter on the right side. You might need to adjust the Player Levels to a wider range.

To search for players in your region, just type /who and it automatically searches the region you're in. It also defaults to your level range.

Of course, it won't work for players who have chosen to be marked as Anonymous.

For selecting people in the fellowship without clicking, f1 through f6 is definitely the way to go. F1 selects yourself, and the rest go through the members of your fellowship. If you want to select the pet of someone, press the key again. For instance, if F2 selects my Lore-master friend, I can press F2 again to select his raven pet.

You can join 1 kinship per character.

Yes. By default, the function keys F1 - F6 will select members of your fellowship. Press F1 to select yourself. Press it again to select your pet or skirmish soldier. Press F2 to select the leader of the fellowship (or whoever is first on the list, if you're the leader.) Press F2 again to select that person's pet or skirmish soldier. F3 - F6 moves down the list on your screen.
